I would have liked to see the age of Canelo in the article. Of course I could google it, but I feel in an article about the retirement age of a boxer there should be the current age so one gets the estimate of how many years are left.
Edit: I googled - he is 29, so roughly 6-7 years left if everything goes according to plan.

When you know he's getting 35m plus regardless, I understand why others ask for big pay days. I also see why everyone is calling him out..

However I also see his point at them asking for too much.

The question is "WHAT IS TOO MUCH"

Fighters, promoters and other associations talk of fans being paramount yet fans miss out on what could be good, classic fights because of money and inability for these people to negotiate..

Should the relevent associations put in place set percentages for certain relevant fights?

Those are easy questions. We talk about it on the forum all the time. Rival networks, rival promoters. Canelo, AJ, Pac move the needle in revenue. Take Haymon fighters as an example, they decide the meritocracy over what the opposing rival sets. Haymon would advise Jermall Charlo or Devryanchenko to take MORE against Canelo. If GBP doesn’t accept, force them to PURSE BID.

Haymon just bitter that PBC didn’t turn out the way it was supposed to. Karma. Allowing fans to abuse the email scandal beyond proportion and make GBP the antagonist in boxing. Probably tells his fighters, “DAZN has the money, don’t settle for less...”. The fighters agree.
