He'll be many steps slower and have trouble avoiding shots at 37. The prime best will have many advantages over him except for the mexican meat and the close contest lean in scoring because of the profits from the large Mexican fan base. If he stays longer he still would get a decision victory in his last fight while getting beat up bad for the first time. Best to stop at 33 maybe 34.

If Eastern Euros know who Kovalev and Golovkin are then they should damn well know who Canelo is.
If UKers know who Amir Khan is then they have to know that Canelo got in his ass. Not to mention Liam Smith and Rocky Fielding.

Originally posted by Caxcan View PostNah, most professional judges make a distinction between power punches vs arm punches and jabs, along with taking body punching into account. Canelo commits when he lets his hands go and gets full extension on his shots to a greater degree than just about any fighter, because he has confidence in his accuracy along with defense. Conversely his opponents tend to give uncharacteristically reined in performances due to his slippery upper body movement and hard counters. Hands down one of the most efficient boxers in the game.

I also had the 1st GGG/Canelo fight for Golovkin and had Golovkin beating Canelo by a point in the rematch (5 rds for Canelo, 6 for GGG and 1 even) although I could accept a draw or one point either way.

Can really see Canelo declining in a big way as he progressively ages. He utilities a lot of lateral moment to avoid shots - its fine at the moment as he is at his peak but as he ages his reflexes will slow and you will see him getting increasingly hit. The shots which he is able to ride now will be hitting him flush.
