We all say dumb sheit sometimes. Hope he learns from it, keeps it moving, and does great things.

But let me make a point. He says he used "a term" and that's not the issue for a couple of reasons. First, there's no offensive term. I don't think I've ever met a white man who sees offense in "white boy." That's not an offensive term.

Second, and more important, is that it's not the term that is the issue, but the ideology behind the statement. If I slip up and use a term that is offensive, that's one thing. But, if I believe that one group of people is inherently better than all members of another group, then that is wrong regardless of what terminology I use.

I disagree. He didn't specifically state Loma, to the exclusion of other white people. He simply said he wouldn't lose to "a white boy." Here, he has declared himself to be a better fighter than the entirety of the white population.

He was responding to a question about loma. Regardless of how you decide to interpret it he still didn’t say that one race is superior to another. You choose to spin it like that because it suits your agenda.

I don’t see his wins as my wins or his losses as my losses. Sounds like an inferiority complex to me. I also think that this mentality is ultimately the root of racism/white supremacy. You’ve got to remember that Haney has been born and raised in white supremacist society. It’s natural for him to rebel against that. There’s no systematic black supremacy that whites are subjected to to rebel against.
