That's how I see it - Canelo retires him so if G can squeeze a fight or two in before that then it extends his career a bit longer.

Canelo did do a bit of a 180 on this though - he was real clear he wasn't interested in III with Golovkin, then suddenly its back on. Not sure why he doesn't stick with Plan A (Saunders) once the virus situation clears.

      Let it Marinate!

GGG should let the third fight marinate until Sep 2021. That will force Clenelo to fight two other fights before GGG, possibly BJS, Callum Smith or Benavidez.

canelo is fighting murata in japan on december(non mexican date), so is either ggg then murata or bjs then murata...
the initial plan was bjs-ggg-murata all in 2020 but covid really ruined their plans...
ggg trying to marinate anything is a dumb move, time is not on his side...

Don't think it matters what Banks says, he's not the shot caller. Not sure he's passing the message from G, or if he's just talking. In theory though, taking a tough fight after a 12 month layoff does suck, so I wouldn't blame them for letting them both take tune ups.

            "immediate" third fight.

theres nothing immediate about it, it will have been 2 years since their last fight if they fight this fall. What is the trainers plan, wait until GGG is 40

Alvarez is hardly young and slick... don't forget hes been boxing professionally since age 15 so that is 15 long years in the game. I would say hes just passing his peak. Lets not forget hes already having problems with his knee, frequently having to wear knee braces in fights and going up and down through the weights will not help his performances in the long term (unless he reverts to using PEDs again which I'm sure hes using now during the COVID situation).

As an earlier poster already said, "you couldn't make this ***** up"!!
Do you think a 38 year old Canelo would want to fight a 30 year old Golovkin after a significant lay-off due to COVID before having a tune up fight first?

No.. whats pathetic is you standing behind your keyboard with your 5 inch biceps going on like you've been in the ring and have been hit in the head!

Golovkin has taken flush temple head shots from the likes of Jacobs, Canelo, Brook & Derevychenko and hasn't even remotely flinched. He will even stick his forehead out to block shots with!! Your comment actually shows how much you dont understand boxing & what a real life actual pus you are.

You are a ***in incredibly thick **** with schit for brains! Brook actually WEIGHED MORE than GGG after piling on muscle for the fight despite being a career welterweight. He also came up to 160 with a significant hand speed advantage over Golovkin so when they stood in punching range and exchanged Brook was the one getting through with the harder shots. It was only from round 3 on wards where Golovkin finally caught Brook's rhythm and was able to push him back with pressure.

Oh and for the record Khan WAS outboxing Canelo. He was initially fighting cautiously using movement to get in and out of punching range while using his quick hands to smash Canelo who has slow as *** feet and wasn't able to deal with it. At the time of the stoppage most media/broadcasters had Khan up on the scorecards but obviously Goldenboy had already paid off the judges so it was never going to look that way.
