"Studio" doesn't always mean what you expected it to mean doe.
Fact is fight cards will not be held inside TV studios like the Voice or some singing competition.
It's just a term to describe fight events without the presence of a live audience.
Meaning, they can still be held in stadiums, arenas, casinos, etc. like they used to.
    That's all it is.

I myself heard it first pitched by Arum even before others even thought about it.

Doesn't have to be a gym, it only needs to have a gym look.

Energy is going into the wrong places.

The next time this virus hits we should forget fight island and have elder islands all around the world. The elderly can live their own lives while the young who aren’t at risk of death can continue on with their regular lives.

Yes, but what would be the benefit of hiring a venue like Wembley Stadium when it will be 99.9% empty?

I don't know the hiring rate, but with all the legal risk assessments and insurance it must run into 7 figures easily.

It would actually make more sense to use a TV studio - better IT support, virtual options and the like.

I think it’s a simple equation of studio fights are still a far better alternative to no fights.

              They’ll use small arenas...

Like what UFC or WWE are doing.

The benefit is total, unhampered freedom for the production crews
like posting cameras anywhere they want to.
After all it's millions of people watching at home they're trying to
entertain, not the people inside the studio.

And I don't think TV studios have the facilities to accommodate fighters
with their respective team members sports venues naturally are able to provide.

that things would be back to normal in a few months. It won't.
Promoters should start preparing for the infrastructure to do studio fights.
                  You think this is crazy?
Well, in some parts of Europe, they're preparing for soccer matches without
                  involving audience in the arena.
Even then the number of players and crews involved is even bigger.

The investment should come back in the form of online subscription, PPV buys, etc.
I would prefer studio fights over no fights at all, provided all of the proper safety protocols are in place.

It's obvious that studio fights are going to happen - they pretty much have to happen, unless everyone involved wants to just move into other careers. The question to me is this - who's going to actually get creative and make something new (or at least different) from this. It's that idea that obstacles are really opportunities. Which venue or promoter or provider is going to take this obstacle as an opportunity to try something new?

UFC 249 happened and they filmed basically everything 100% as they would have had there been a crowd. But who says that's how it's gotta happen? Fights don't *have to* take place in empty arenas - they can be anywhere a ring can sit. The filming and production can look like *anything.*

I don't even remember the last major fight I watched before the pandemic began.
So many Saturdays have passed and still no fight is looming on the horizon.
