When doing the comparison, you have to look at all the facts. Herschel played in an I-Formation offense all three of the years he was at UGA. Bo played in a Wishbone for the first three years. UGA had no other running backs outside of Herschel who carried the ball, Bo was playing with Lionel James, Brent Fullwood and Tommie Agee. All great running backs in their own right. As a result Bo never averaged more than 17 carries/game in his career, while Herschel was closer to 30 carreies/game. These items nullify any yards per season argument. Yards/carry is the true measure and Bo at almost 6 yds/carry is far greater than Herchels barely 4yds/carry. Hershel is not even in the top 20 for yds/carry in the SEC, while Bo is at the top. Herschel was a great back, but Bo did more with less, and he also played hurt. Played against Alabama with busted ribs, and dislocated his shoulder because he was playing hurt against Texas.
Bo only played 4 seasons in the NFL and had more yards per carry than Herschel and went down in his prime. Ask prime Dieon Sanders who was a great athlete in himself about Bo Jackson, he'd tell you. Ask Howie Long, who is a legend about Bo Jackson.
Ask Brian Bosworth who knows Bo first hand.
Any legend or knowledgeable historian will favor Bo Jackson over not just Herschel Walker, but every other athlete for that matter.
You lost all credibility for me when you said Walker was faster, then when I showed you Bo was faster (4.13), you then changed the requirement to something outside of football standards as if we're not talking about football players.

Oh and Bo didn't even play full seasons because of his baseball obligations... I'm starting to doubt if Prince was even alive during this time
From what I remember first hand, you had great NFL running backs. During that 80's/90's era, you had great running backs like Okoye, Bo Jacskon, Emmit Smith, Barry Sanders, Marcus Allen, Ricky Waters, etc. Herschel just wasn't a great NFL back and didn't dominate the NFL like he did college.
Bo didn't have that problem.Last edited by Chollo Vista; 04-18-2020, 01:32 PM.Comment

How high would you rate Herchel Walker? When doing the comparison, you have to look at all the facts. Herschel played in an I-Formation offense all three of the years he was at UGA. Bo played half seasons in the NFL and was a legendary terror. He played essentially 2 years if you count 4 half season's and he has legendary stories and career highlights on YouTube while being a baseball All-Star at the same time
You post a link where Walker played over 10 NFL seasons and was still looked at as an NFL bust.
Were you even alive during this time?Comment

Walker was a great college player as was Bo. They were neck and neck.
But in the pros, Walker was a bust and Bo continued to dominate in the NFL like he did college while also dominating in baseball. Bo played half NFL season's which is crazy for you to even be comparing the two.
Put it like this, Emmit Smith, Barry Sanders, Marcus Allen, etc had nothing on Bo Jackson. Now that's saying something. So for you to come talking about Herschel Walker is crazy. If they couldn't touch him in the NFL, what makes you think Walker could when he did far less?
As far as all around athlete, Walker is definitely up there. But he wasn't Bo JacksonComment

Walker was 50 years old when he got in the ring dude.....Comment
