Why was there a 22 foot ring for Joshua vs Ruiz II?

    Coincidence or deliberate A-side tactics?

And why aren't all rings the same standard size?

A side tactics. It's one of the things that the promotional group puts in the contract.

was 100% so Joshua could run all night.

pretty sure it was a-side tactics like floyds football field sized ring agaisnt maidana in the rematch. boxing has almost no oversight so is it really a surprise?

I think both of you should check what size the ring was in the first fight

I know that in the rematch, Kenney mentioned that the last time a ring this size was used was SRL/Hagler.

so what was the size of the New York ring?

            18ft sorry.

Almost the same, very little difference.

Most A-side fighters do this, especially if they have the leverage to make those demands. This is nothing new.

AJ used every trick in the book, SRL did this same exact against Duran. In my opinion it was a coward trick but To be fair to AJ, anybody in his position would have done the same thing. At some point we all have to accept the fact that anybody in an Aside position would be a fool to give away any advantages. I do believe the ring size should always be the same as well as the mat and the canvas type. Just like the gloves need to pass the inspection everything else should have to pass

No I stand corrected. I seem to remember being told it was the same size. just checked it, and it was 18ft.

                    Not much difference really.

But obviously AJ got the advantages he could take, like he should do.

                    He made no excuses.
