People are sleeping on Benavidez if they think he's only what he showed in the Dirrell fight. He is a highly gifted young fighter & it will show when somebody forces him to dig into his bag of tricks. He's the only guy Canelo hasn't offered a fight at 168 & he has the WBC belt. Real recognize real. The longer Canelo waits, the more of a complete fighter Benavidez becomes, & the less of a chance Canelo has of winning. If he ever fights him at all.

I suppose many Mexicans are not really Mexicans since a lot of them have the blood of Spaniards flowing in them. And using your rationale I'm not American but Irish.

David's trainer and dad confirms they already received an offer to fight canelo in the past and turned it down

Canelo should stay away from 168.. Focus on 160... David would be a nightmare! This will be a Errol Spence vs Mikey Garcia match up! David is just too big.. Too good.

Charlo is not taking that kind of risk. Benavidez would beat him easy imo. Both Charlo brothers are very talented but lack initiative in making themselves a household name

Cabello will probably let Benavidez, Smith and Plant figure out who's #1 out of those 3, then fight for the #1 spot.

Smith doesn't deserve to be in the same category as Plant and Benavidez. I think BJS beats Smith too personally I dont see the appeal behind Smith myself.

Mexican blood? You have to be kidding. Next thing you know someone will pipe up about Mexican "Race".

You are right, Benevidez is not canelo’s countrymen, they are not the same race either.
Having said all that, don’t expect to EVER see Canelo in with him....Canelo will continue to feast on second raters from the Matchroom stable
Well, we agree on one thing, the first part of your post. I'll leave it at that.

He has a belt and won the Super series. He's big, strong, good power, good skills. It's unwise to sleep on him. He's a threat at 168 and the others all know it.

I stand corrected on that. He offered it to him when he was 20, still raw & saw him look vulnerable after the 1st Gavril fight. He sure ain't send it to him after seeing him beat the stuffing outta Gavril the 2nd time around & win his title the 2nd time around against Dirrell. He's sent one to everybody around him but him now that he's seasoned up some & is really coming into his own.
