Crawford has not been challenged in a fight in a long, long time. He has shown no real signs of slipping, but this mega-fight does have a sell by date and it needs to happen soon for it to be the kind of event both these men's talents set it up to be. Crawford did not make things easy by signing with Top Rank, but I have always believed that he was promised the big fights when he did. Otherwise he could have stayed a unified champion at 140 and made the same coin he is making now. But he moved up to 147 for these fights.

If Spence needs a fight to ensure he is all the way back from his car crash, that is legit. If either of these guys get Manny and the paycheck that comes with a fight with his name attached, I cannot fault that kind of decision. Otherwise, Crawford/Spence has to be made.
I agree with most if not everything you said.

I think now that Spence has two belts, it's either Manny or Crawford, so either way we get a legacy defining fight.

The Garcia fight makes much more sense now seeing as Spence is coming back from the accident.

Danny is a legitimate opponent and is capable of winning if he has a good day and Spence has an average day.

I think the Corona has benefited Spence more than anyone because he gets more time to recover without worrying about getting stripped by the IBF and WBC.

Nevertheless let's hope we don't get an upset and Spence is still fresh and beats up Danny. In the past upsets were great for the sport but not anymore. Because now there are rematch clauses that have to be honored so if a fighter loses we get a rematch and if he wins it back they want to settle the dust with a rubber match and all the while we miss out on unifications or the fight we really wanted.

Also, fighters in the past fought way more often than now. So if a fighter lost he would get a rematch quickly and then move on. Now you might wait six months for a rematch.

Hope Crawford beats Brook and Spence beats Danny, both in convincing fashion so that we can get hype for the Spence/Crawford showdown.

On the other hand I understand why Spence wants Manny first.

If he beats Manny, Manny passes on the torch and some of Manny's fans will become Spence supporters.

He also makes a lot of money and most importantly gets the third belt.

All these things give him a massive advantage when he goes to the negotiation table with Crawford and Top Rank.

Brook, Petersen, Mikey Garcia, Porter, Danny Garcia (post accident tune up that is better than anyone on Crawford's resume), and Manny Pacquiao.

That is what it looks like Spence's schedule is going to be.

I don't see any bums on that list to be honest.

If it made sense for PBC the pocketed boxing media would be against it. So of course it doesn’t make sense or why would they be calling for it.

At this point, I have real doubts that this fight ever happens. Neither guy seems to have their heart set on it. I can't criticize them for it, but neither guy prioritizes legacy over money.

Fans still feel no sense of urgency with this clown.
For a guy who just had a close brush with leaving everything behind,
you'd think he would do something different.

I said 2 or 3 years ago that these two don't want to fight each other and never will and I got absolutely crucified. Also got told it needed to marinate. Fact is fights no bigger than it would have been, crawfords beaten no-one of note in years (?ever) and spence showed he isn't really any better than a fighter like Shawn porter. I've never considered it as some super fight either, really neither of them have done anything that great.

Brook - ruined by GGG before their fight

Peterson - lol, had already lost multiple times.

Mikey Garcia - a fat welterweight

Porter - lost to Thurman, Spence should've been fighting Thurman at that time.

Gift Garcia? Hasn't fought him yet and sucks. He's better off fighting Thurman.

Like I said, he doesn't want it. These PBC clowns have a million and one excuses as to why they shouldn't challenge themselves.

They should fight soon, what with all these crazy lockdowns in the world. Get the fight made and do it.

That's what the guys from the 80's understood. You said in your previous post that boxing is "totally different" now. No it's not. Men train, and fight to see who can whoop who. Maybe there's more money today, but just look at the resumes of Spence and Crawford compared to the great WW's of the 80's in relation to their accomplishments at the same age. It ain't even close my man.
No no. I do not mean this fight will live up to the big time fights of the 4 kings era. I'm saying that it represents that type of fight in today's times. As I said earlier, it's the biggest fight that can be made in boxing outside of "all things Canelo". And boxing IS different now. It has to compete with MMA, social media isn't what it was back then, things like that. Boxing was in peak form back then in the public eye. It's not really that way now
