What does a Spence - DSG fight do for him, or a Crawford - Porter fight do? You think that gets these two on a loop on Sportcenter? How do you know if Spence - Crawford is on the level of Hearns/Leonard/Hagler/Duran in terms of "eras" if they never fight? The fight could be a stinker. You don't know until you actually fight. That's what the guys from the 80's understood. You said in your previous post that boxing is "totally different" now. No it's not. Men train, and fight to see who can whoop who. Maybe there's more money today, but just look at the resumes of Spence and Crawford compared to the great WW's of the 80's in relation to their accomplishments at the same age. It ain't even close my man.

If these two fight already we could be talking about a much bigger rematch. Pacquiao and Mayweather most likely would have had a rematch had they fought in 09-10.

You and I see this the same way. The PPV has a ceiling, that's for sure, and the only way to find out where that lies, is by actually fighting. That and we get to see who whoops who.

Danny's not even in the picture, no way in hell he deserves a title shot with anyone...he needs to beat a live contender, "Boots" Ennis would smash Danny boy...After what Jeff Horn did to Manny, he ain't fighting Spence anytime soon..

"crawford fight is big", yes, it is big. it would be a fight between 2 undefeated champions who are currently regarded as the best in the division.

Yeah, the guy is full of crap, as usual. Doesn't make sense saying it's big, yet it just had to make sense first. How can it not make sense when it's big?

Reality is, he doesn't want it anytime soon. He wants to line up guys like Garcia, and in particular, Thurman, who doesn't seem to be willing to cooperate reason why he hates One Time.

Boxing is totally different now than it was back in the day. Some of you guys have to grasp that. I'm not defending Spence, Crawford, or any other fighter about this. But you guys saying they need to fight "right now" are ridiculous. What's that opinion based on? Crawford hasn't fought anybody at 147 worth a damn. Spence does appear to be the real deal. But this is NOT a fight that is actually being called upon by the world. It's not even close! The talent says this is a PPV legendary matchup. And it IS! But think about everything involved in a fight of that magnitude. A mega-fight.... the common public isn't buying this fight. Die hard fans will buy it, like myself. But in order for everyone to get paid the value of what this fight is actually worth (including promoters, trainers, fighters, etc), this fight needs be like top 10 all time in PPV buys. Because of the talent and risks involved. And it's no where even close to that! It may not crack the top 50 PPV buys at this point! That's no fault to the ability of the fighters. It's simply that they aren't big enough stars yet. More big wins will make them bigger stars. THAT is how this fight can get made. Both have to continue fighting top talent, and build it into a mega- fight in the eyes of the public. Anyone who thinks this fight is "ready" now, is either fooling themselves, or just really doesn't understand the boxing business. Period

You're kind of right but the thinking is flawed. Historically it's been shown that these fights should be made now because these are fight that create the bigger paydays. Fighters who fight the best make the most money overall. Im going to recent fighters to verify my point. People say Floyd cherry picked, but the reality is Floyd built his resume before he became Money May. Manny fought a lot of good fighters well and like Mayweather showed he was in different class which is why their fight was a blockbuster and how they became the cash cows. Even Canelo, look at names on resume. By fighting top level comp he's now to that level and he can pick an choose. These fighters EARNED their position. Spence has spent his whole career a WW and has only really fought ONE legit fighter. Bud fought in 2 other weight classes and cleaned out one of them. If they fight now, they could also set themselves up for rematches which could be even bigger fights. I won't even talk the potential for a loss (ie Wilder/Joshua)

I'm not a fan of either of these guys. Both need to step up, Spence is what, 29 now, Crawford is 32, I think about past greats and what usually a great fighter accomplished by the time they are that age. Both these guys claim they are great, the best, or at least is what they think they are and what some fans claim them to be. Personally, I think they are just good fighters from this era, to be the best, great, HOF, type of fighters, they need to not only to fight each other, but continue to fight these types of fights going forward and stop wasting their careers fighting a bunch of guys that make absolutely no sense, this match up makes sense, both guys are seeking De la Hoya, Mayweather, Chavez, Pacquiao, Canelo to name a few, type of money, but both these guys are not that type of draw because of the lack of competition in their careers, to get that type of money they need to take this fight and dangerous fights going forward, I mean all those guys I mentioned by the time they were these guys ages had already accomplished a lot. Moral of the story is Spence and Crawford will never make that type of money if they don't fight each other and continue on the track they are on, this fight is the fight that makes sense for both and everything else is just excuses on part from both men.
