Yeah, I hear you. I felt the exact same way up until recently. Been watching some of his older fights and his recent training vids and I really think this kid is coming along nicely and will be massively improved in another year under the Reynosos and working with Canelo. I'm not sure that he ever fights Lomachenko (he would lose obviously), but I think he may well fight the rest of those guys. I predict that he wins when they do.

As far as comparisons to the old guys, I definitely think that he's behind ODLH at the same age, probably Vargas too, but he will definitely have a better career than Vargas.

If he does fight Linares , imo , that will be a great test
We’ll have a great idea where he’s at but I do agree he is being brought along well
Let’s just hope all this chatter is not just that , chatter

well see how things go. There are always surprises in boxing. Some guys exceed expectations while others never meet them. With vargas, I think he gets overlooked for peaking so early. He does have wins over Campas, Winky and Quartey. He gave Trinidad and Oscar hell in losses. Even gave mosley a tough go in their 2st fight. Just was a fast decline and early.

That's what I like about the Reynosos, they don't get sidetracked by the hype.

They are well-grounded, know the job that is in front of them, and know what it's going to take to get Ryan to where he needs to be.

The promoter and the fighter might be in a rush but I'm glad that they as trainers are preaching patience and doing things the right way.

Got mixed feelings on this one

I understand the coache's perspective. Someone brought up Nando and its a good example of a fighter who did peak early. Thing is, they fed Nando gravy for many moons and took him along nice and slow. I would never second guess that thinking...Nando was, after all, not very mature, and tended to need a lot of handling.

Now maybe Ryan is the same way. But in a division where there are three young guys coming up...would it be so horrible to let them fight each other? I mean we have a nice opportunity here to get it settled who the premier young talent is in the division. It would settle much about who stays at the weight, goes up, or down... Especially from Tank Davis' perspective, things should be moving forwards.

I don't think it would be a bad career move to have Ryan and Haney fight. But what do I know?
