Truly entertaining fighter who throws those kind of shots that make you wince for the other fighter regularly. I really want him to be #1 in the division so we have a real mix up of punchers competing for the top spot at cruiser. Just imagine a world where Goulamirian, Makabu, Glowacki, Dorticos and Briedis are all beating the living daylights out of each other to become #1. Simply perfection.

Ioka-Tanaka could be a real passing of the torch moment for Japanese boxing. By beating Ioka, Tanaka could emulate him as a 4 weight champ.

You never know we might get a WBSS season 3 at Cruiserweight.😂😂 It’s always a pretty fun division, definitely has been the last few years.

I just don’t feel beating a list or champions is that impressive when you contextualise the standard of many champions within the women’s divisions.
      Fair enough.

But, just for comparison, the much hyped Amanda Serrano has fought a total of 8 times against champions in 40 fights, losing cleanly to Frieda Wallberg in one of them.

And regardless of belts Myriam Lamare, Chevelle Hallback, Mia St John, Erica Farias, and Anne Sophie Mathis are widely considered among the greatest female fighters ever and they're all likely to end up in the HOF. Braekhus dispatched them all easily; Mathis twice.

In her 36 fights, Braekhus has NEVER lost more than 3 rounds.

Only one singular judge in her entire career has even given an opposing fighter 4 out of 10 rounds.

Firstly I gotta say, it's either Ioka-Tanaka is a passing of the torch or the announcement of Ioka as Estrada's new main rival at 115. That and the establishment of Ioka as an ATG (as if he isn't already, after that last fight I watched against Palicte I've been convinced of his precocious talent, best footwork in the world alongside Loma, they honestly match each other they're both that good at it, it's a credit for either to be compared to the other in that department).
Dude never in the history of cruiserweight boxing has it been boring either. It's got the crushing KOs of the heavies and the speed of light heavies combined. Great viewing pretty much every time.

Yeah Serrano is kind of the point I’m trying to make, it’s so easy to pick up a vacant or easy title in the female divisions.

I’ve actually seen Braekhus fight a few times and she’s a very good fighter. I just wish there were a far more Breakhus’, Shields’ etc because that way we’d consistently get better quality of fights like Persoon-Taylor for example.

It will be interesting to see how Ioka approaches it, he should use his footwork and box more on the back foot IMO, if it becomes an attritional battle I favour Tanaka to be too strong especially with youth on his side.

I’d love to see Gonzalez, Estrada, Nietes and Ioka all fight each other unify 115 and then ride off into the sunset. All future HOF’ers IMO.

Yeah, moving up and immediately fighting Ioka. I ****ing love japanese boxers. No tune up, no marinating, just getting it done.

I like Estrada, but with Chocolatito turning back the clock, they have to fight again IMO

Generally no BS record padding either.

While Fury would beat any of AJ's opponents handily, styles make fights. That fight will settle the score.

Josh Taylor actually impressed me, not too big on UK fighters in general but him and Cool Hand are legit. Not sure I'd say Taylor is the clear best at 140 quite yet, although he impressed me in his win over Prograis (should have been a UD, was scored a MD. He fights like a bully and I thought it was cool).

Are we forgetting Rigo already? He moved up multiple weight divisions and lost, I still rate him.

Beterbiev vs Bivol will settle the score. Again, styles make fights but Beterbiev is a beast, my favourite must watch fighter.

Loma best at 135? That remains to be seen. Linares troubled him, and I'd argue Cool Hand did as well - even if he was soundly beaten he revealed that size and range are definitely obstacles for Loma. Mikey Garcia if he goes back to 135 would be a test also, and if Davis gets his **** together I can see him being a problem also (if he makes 135 his home). Loma is best at 126 and 130, I wouldn't hedge a bet on him being the best 135'er but it is entirely possible, just not CLEAR yet, too many opponents he has yet to face.

Canelo is obviously the clear best at 160.

WW we gotta wait for Spence vs Crawford, I hope Spence bounces back from injury.

Ioka needs to use his footwork, it can befuddle even the best of fighters and Tanaka is a mean inside scrapper with a good body attack. Wouldn't let him get too close indeed.
I don't think there are many at the top of 115 right now who aren't legends. Easily the best division in boxing in terms of quality at the top. Just imagine a WBSS at the division. Easily the best option of the lot too being not too expensive and having multiple talents at the top 10 p4p level. I'd say Ioka, Estrada, Nietes, SSR, Tanaka and Chocolatito are all in the p4p top 20 which is obscene for one division of small guys.
