Doesn't take much to bruise GGG's face. He looked bruised as **** after the Rosado fight and he wasn't even hit all that much and the Monroe fight as well even though Willie isn't a big hitter. Not to mention that he got hit with elbows 2 or 3 times in the rematch and got the headbutt in the 12th round to open up the cut.Comment

Gotta score damage, this is true...but scoring how a face looks after the fight isn't the way to score damage...GGG's jab is so effective/easy to score for me because it lands clean very often, and it also noticeably lands, snapping the other guy's head back...that punch is a 'power' punch as much as anything either guy throws on average in any given fight.Comment

Why doesn't he fight G at 168?
I would do it just to mess with him. Especially when he played games with that catchweight fiasco after offering a catchweight to Rosado at 157Comment

I sure hope so, he is still only 29 too I would have preferred he stayed a 168 but he will most likely punish a 38 year old GGG now.Comment

I agree but this was no David lemieoux power jab he was throwing and landing.Gotta score damage, this is true...but scoring how a face looks after the fight isn't the way to score damage...GGG's jab is so effective/easy to score for me because it lands clean very often, and it also noticeably lands, snapping the other guy's head back...that punch is a 'power' punch as much as anything either guy throws on average in any given fight.
If you look at the quality of the jabs he landed versus the power shots canelo landed, I would take the power shots. Ggg could not or would not throw those power jabs out of fear of being countered.Comment

I mean Canelo definitely had GGG fighting more cautious than he would have against someone worse...but same goes for Canelo and his style vs GGG.I agree but this was no David lemieoux power jab he was throwing and landing.

Again for me GGG's jab has always been easy to score...because when it lands it usually seems to land really clean and hard, as evidenced by the opponent's head snapping back...check out the Canelo fights and even Jacobs fight if you care to, all 3 the jab was still doing that in those...it's just a really easy punch to score for me man.
Think about it like this - how often do you see a punch that you know definitely** lands clean and hard..it is not that often...a lot of times we are left wondering if it was partially blocked and how hard it was.
When a dude's jab is snapping the other guy's neck back, I mean that's a great scoring punch...people should be giving GGG a lot more credit for his jab rather than trying to slight it imo...we haven't seen too many jabs as good as his in this sport.Comment

There lies the problem with scoring. Some refs will give the power shots more weight than they would jabs. Some will give jabs more due to it being a way to control the fight etc. It is all subjective really. I score based on punch effectiveness. I do score Ggg's jabs with the weight they deserve but to compare them to power shots I would still give the power shots more weight.I mean Canelo definitely had GGG fighting more cautious than he would have against someone worse...but same goes for Canelo and his style vs GGG.

If fighter A landed 10 clean jabs where half of them snapped the head back and fighter B landed 7 power shots to the body and head I would have to gauge the reactions of both fighters upon receiving said punches. Where the jabs more effective against the receiver or were the power shots more?
This is partially the reason I dislike scoring fights unless asked. I prefer to watch the fight and enjoy it regardless who wins or loses.Comment

So you’re saying the reason you don’t want the 3rd fight is just in case a clearly diminished ggg manages to beat canelo. In before..."If its at 160("lil" mw gggs career weight he refuses to budge from)then Canelo is weightdraining him" ,or "if its at 168 Canelo is weightbullying lil mw ggg",or"Canelo aged him",(even though gggstans been crying for this fight since saying Nelos duckin) Canelo will ALWAYS be duckin who he doesn't pick,& whomever he does picks a cherry regardless of being champions.
This is why I don't want to see a 3rd fight, anything besides a ko is a robbery,& regardless of what Nelo does it will be discredited (esp. if he loses his accomplishments are forgotten by the same few scorned who picked him to win in a supposed cherrypick)Comment
