Andy Ruiz is a heavyweight Carlos Baldomir, a one hit wonder that will fade into obscurity.

Right. Joshua adapted to a style that made sense after the first fight. it wasent very exciting of course. If he hurt Ruiz I don’t think he’d jump on him at all. Don’t blame him. Course if he got a stoppage that would have earned him huge props. I give credit to AJ for dropping Ruiz clean in the first fight and then going after him. It was exciting. He hit Ruiz with sum great shots. It just didn’t work out. Sadly he might avoid going after anyone like that ever again.Comment

Why is it when an American, or anybody else that goes to the UK and loses, disappears into obscurity, but they can come to America, lose, get KOd, run out of Dodge, and it's like it never happened. Smith, Khan, Campbell, AJ, still have huge followings, even if they haven't avenged squat in America.Comment

Maybe, “Ruiz is done.” Because I don’t know what’s gonna motivate him to cut all that fatty weight and stay in the gym. He partied for months after he accosted AJ, so his affection might now be directed towards club promotion and catering..lol..I just don’t see the hyper attention seeker Atlas motivating Ruiz any more than Ruiz’s homeboy up the block. Maybe if the powers that be can somehow get a burrito to circle a track while Ruiz chases it? Other than that, you may be right. Ruiz might be done.Comment

It's always the same thing with certain people on here. It's all, "we dont want excuses" when someone from the UK takes a loss, but when they win the other guy has a list of excuses and they help add to them. As for Ruiz, how could he not have know AJ was going to box him from the outside in the rematch? Everyone else did.Comment

Teddy Atlas always like to lit fire in the ŠŠ of fighters.
Sorry, but I have to agree to Teddy Atlas on this one and there is not debate against him on this one. The only thing is, the timing was off when Teddy Atlas said these things and sound like a temper tantrum.

The Joshua-Ruiz drama was two strange fights that leave me confused. Joshua looked spooked in Fight One, Ruiz had the night of his life, Joshua said nothing about what was going on with him. Fight Two, with Joshua coming out of a long hibernation of training, he boxed, moved a bit, stayed away without running, and won a landslide without landing a significant punch. Weight on Ruiz? Skill or fear from Joshua? Who knows? Remember Roy Jones Jr. after the Montel Griffin DQ? Or Antonio Tarver after what he believed was a robbery against Roy Jones Jr.? That's what desire looks like after a loss. AJ is a great human being, a thoughtful, authentic, respectful dude. He didn't even get after Jarrell Miller when the out-of-line loudmouth tested positive for PEDs. AJ still speaks well of Dillian Whyte, who insults AJ in the worst ways every time the subject comes up. He's too cerebral, too much in his head to beat a madman like Tyson Fury; he'd go down from a Wilder right hand and Dillian Whyte would take him out at this point. AJ's big moment was against Klitschko -- now he's a wealthy and popular man who will have a great career post-boxing if he doesn't hang on too long and end up in an embarrassing verbal battle with Fury, Wilder and Whyte.
Green Karma Positive: The best post and is the first one, there is not debate on this one. Welcome to Boxing Scene.Comment
