Comments Thread For: Atlas: Ruiz, In Better Shape, Would Have Still Lost To Joshua

Veteran trainer Teddy Atlas believes the issue of "weight" should not be viewed as a major factor in last December's fight between Anthony Joshua and Andy Ruiz. In June of 2019, Ruiz dropped Joshua four times and stopped him in the seventh round.

When AJ trains for a marathon and gets a 22 foot ring to run it in. He's hard to catch, much less beat. Andy ran him like a rabbit, but AJ had room to shift gears. The trilogy should be in a 18 footer, like Sun Tsou said. If you want the men to fight, put them on death ground.

It’s obvious Andy Ruiz was never gonna choose Atlas as his trainer and he made that obvious by not taking the trip to New York and Atlas is slowly realizing this and he’s gonna start talking a bunch of shet. But I do agree Ruiz has to train to fight ppl on the outside like AJ

That should be obvious even to casuals. But you always have ****riders who want to believe Ruiz's obesity was the reason he lost.
Would love to look in their eyes when Joshua knocks The Gypsy out with that lucky punch from the Gods.

It was a masterclass performance from Joshua In a fight that many thought he'd lose. Unfortunately a lot of people were upset he didn't stand in the middle of the ring with his chin in the air to allow ruiz to hit him

Joshua couldnt knock out the shortest fattest heavyweight champ the world has every seen. Who didnt bother training for the fight.

Hows he going to handle a full sized 6'9 heavy weight with boxing ability?... AJ will get embarrassed again.
