Keep in mind Canelo vs Kovalev WAS ALREADY PLANNED BEFORE Gvozdyk vs Beterbiev. You might as well say ''why didn't Canelo want Gvozdyk's Lineal?'' Remember that Canelo had to wait for the Kova vs Yarde fight. NOBODY even dreamed that Kovalev was going to go that far with Yarde. Everybody banked on Kova to murk Yarde in less than 6. Many of you forgot this. Beterbiev beating Gvozdyk was a month prior to Krusher vs Canelo.

Yarde chose Kovalev and rejected the step aside fee. We had to wait months leading up to the fight. Remember OSCAR was talking about a Kovalev fight for Canelo around the time Gvozdyk was making his first defense against Ngumbu.

    Yall musta forgot!

    also...

Kovalev was a somebody... those other guys are nobodies

it is clearly obvious why Kovalev got that fight, NOBODY knew those other guys

fcuk Bivol at 168... Benavidez at 168 is the fight to make !

Bivol means nothing at 168, that fight needs to happen at 175

Bivol needs to make some noise at 175

the best way for a heavyweight to get that fight, is to unify

become something, give Canelo a reason
now, that will be something to lure canelo...

The people saying that Canelo is too small for 175 are the same people who 2 years ago were saying he's too small for 160 and 155 was his ceilling.

Guy is going to come out of this quarantine looking like a redheaded Ronnie Coleman.

Canelo said he won't fight Mexicans anymore when he said he was moving up to 168.

I've been wanting Canelo/Benavidez for a while now. Gonna have to settle for Benavidez/Plant since Zurdo is MIA.

and the third ggg fight is happening at 160, i highly doubt that canelo will be draining him self for ggg, he could be demanding the fight at 164 or 168 if he wanted... size wise he is small for 175, he has the skills and iq to compete there but thats a different story...

It doesn't make any sense. That's not Bivol talking, that's his management fulfilling proxy and rumors for DAZN matchmaking noise, gossip. Bivol imo would offer Canelo a catchweight. He's being advised not to. However, I think Canelo can hold his own at 175 now. He'd be a SMALL LHW, but his ring IQ and precision and power can easily stand with those guys.

Remember, EU fighters hate getting hit to the body. Gvozdyk's reach worked against him on the inside, just looking sloppy. It's not about the offensive IQ that Gvozdyk lacked, it was the inside fighting that Beterbiev was too strong. For a guy like Beterbiev, you need shorter and stockier strength, a guy like Emperor Canelo to do the trick. I'd say Canelo's biggest test would be taking Beterbiev's clinching shots. That's where Canelo needs to worry imo.

Bivol looks very thin at the waist. Sure he's fluid and got a nice workrate, but powershots from Canelo to his body will put him to the test. Lenin Castillo ain't no Canelo Alvarez.
i will still favor canelo over bivol even at 175 regardless of the size difference...

Stop it, they’re in their prime and we all know including you, that Canelo has never fought anyone in their prime. Don’t make me repeat that pathetic win record again cupcake...

Canelo will get outclassed by Bivol at 168 and 175. However that would be a great fight. Cinnamon will avoid Bivol and Beterbiev like the plague

especially if Bivol moves straight back to 175

Then , they really have a hard time with this sport

I’m really not getting what your point is in your second post
Check what I said the minute they mentioned Kovi
My prediction ; Canelo gets him out in five rounds
                      Kovi is shot to chits
Anybody besides his ultra fans know that , set aside a few nostalgic guys lol
Imo , it didn’t look to good for Canelo to be waiting around for Kovi , kind of like fight night waiting for ufc to finish lol
He could gone after Gvozdyk or Beterbiev , they both had belts if all of a sudden he’s a belt guy
Seems only after he dropped his WBO that he spoke about legacy , which in reality everybody chits on Loma for that but wtv
