If Smith was confident of beating Canelo then why didn't he take the fight knowing that after the win he would be the one being chased down and the one holding the purse strings and deciding terms..

Smith thought it would be his big pay day going into talks with fighting Canelo but I dont believe for a second he entered talks because he thought he could beat him....

Canelo used his ability to draw fans to get a better split for himself. There is no difference. If Smith didn't like the offer and can live with not getting the fight then that's fine.
