Nothing is at stake in Canelo-GGG 3

There isn’t a bigger fight on the horizon for either fighter that this fight could lead too.

GGG is about done with his career. His place in history remains the same, regardless of the outcome. Canelo is a young highly rated star with so much time ahead of him, regardless of the outcome.

The titles don’t matter because GGG is about done with his career and Canelo is about done with that weight class.

I don’t remember a huge fight that seemed to matter so little in the grand scheme of the boxing world. It feels like absolutely nothing changes no matter what the outcome is. Even if Canelo wins huge or if Golovkin wins and then wins a fourth fight, it really doesn’t change anything at all. It’s strange.

It's the year of the trilogies

        Canelo vs. Golovkin III

        Fury vs. Wilder III

        Zerafa vs. Horn III?

It would be massive for Golovkin if he pulls off the upset and actually gets the win in this third fight. That's huge stakes for his career and his place in history.

            This^^^^^^^^^

It would even lead to a 4th fight. Ugh, it's turning into Pac vs Marquez but with less entertaining fights

The fight is important on this boxing board if no where else. This board has some of the most extreme Canelo lovers and GGG haters imaginable. If Canelo wins even by Vegas robbery they will be thrilled and declare the win proves the 29 year old Canelo is vastly superior to the 38 year old GGG. If GGG wins the more rabid Canelo fans will be devastated and GGG fans will be pleased that he got the win they think he should have had in both of the first two fights. This fight should have happened right after the 2nd fight but better late than never.

Yeah, this could be Golovkin's legacy defining fight since he's a heavy underdog and most people expect Canelo to not only win in dominant fashion this time around, but to basically walk through GGG and stop him.

I lean towards Canelo by clear decision, but I'm pulling for GGG.
