I understand the dangers of the pandemic, and I disagree with Arum and his fear mongering comments.
If the fighters: 1) agree to fight under the circumstances; 2) are able to train and fight in a safe environment; 3) the fighters’ team, commission (including the refs and judges) and the TV production test negative before the fight. Then, the card should go on.
Wrestlemania will still go on. What those events and this one will lose in attendance revenue, it will more than make up for in PPV revenue and good will. In 3 weeks, the UFC will be the only game in town, while boxing is on ice until July. Arum and his ilk have spent the last 30+ years running boxing into the ground for their consistently poor decision making while Dana Whyte and the UFC are still on the upswing despite having a lesser product.
A lot of variable from here to the 18th, but if the card comes off and the fights are good, it will be a resounding success.
