  • Comments Thread For: Arum: Dana White Making Fool Of Himself By Insisting On Holding UFC 249

Bob Arum fully understands that people are concerned with much more important issues these days than scheduling boxing events. The Hall-of-Fame promoter can't comprehend why Dana White hasn't taken the same compassionate, pragmatic approach to UFC 249. The UFC president hopes to go forward with that mixed martial arts card April 18 at an undetermined venue, even if it doesn't include Russian star Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Yup even as money hungry as Arum is himself he is nowhere near the level of Dana White.

This situation wasn't about the money. The ufc will loose money to hold the event now because no arena revenue etc.The event has been cancelled 5 times. This guys are undefeted for years similar to manny and floyd. So its a matter of principal that the virus will not stop this event again.PS I agree that the event should be canceled but I understand why the tried to hold it on.

If it genuinely can be held without exposing anyone involved to an increased risk of infection, then I see no reason not to go ahead. The same stands for all sport. For nearly all sport, it is not feasible currently. As soon as it is feasible for other sports -- whether people are dying or not -- more events will follow. And that is a good thing. When sporting events restart it will be a massive boost for moral, a psychological turning point. If you can safely hold an event, go for it. So it hinges on whether UFC is able to safely make this happen.

Dude the reason Dana White wants to hold this fight is the money! Think about it zero sports going on the whole world will tune in to watch this has potential to break PPV records the live gate money isn’t sh it man.
