HeII I mean the fight could still happen haha. But let's say these two squared off at 140 around 2009ish? And also consider what the fight may look like before Pac iced him. Hatton is a two handed, come forward brawler with very underrated power for his stature. People trash Hatton because he lost big against Floyd and Pac. Obviously it's nothing to be ashamed about because each foe are 2 of the greatest of all time. Do you think Hatton pre or post-Pac would stop Marquez?

People forgot how strong hatton was in his prime lol it was also evident in the floyd fight where he was the smaller fighter.

If baby bull diaz managed to do some damage to marquez at 135 then prime hatton wrestles him to death at 140. That is just a styllistic nightmare for marquez. He will be outmuscled, and wouldn’t be given a room to breath.
Marquez is good when you give him space for his counters that is why pac fighting him in and out play to his strengths.
Baby bulled diaz mauled him and had success but diaz is just not that strong a puncher.

Hatton would dismantle chubby mikey too. Not everyone would have handled hatton like prime floyd did. Not everyone could fight inside and wrestle back against hatton. From what im seeing today from mikey im sure hatton wrestles him to submission.

Finally someone mentions the Diaz fight. Juan Diaz has a similar high intensity, left and right hook dominated style. His aggressive in fighting style gave Marquez a lot of problems. Hatton imo is a lot more size, power, dynamism when compared with Diaz. If Marquez beats Hatton, it would be nothing like how Floyd beat him. Floyd was coordinated enough and barely fast enough to establish enough distance to catch him coming inside, with his 72 in reach. I also don't think Marquez will fair well with a stonger, more physical brawler. Didn't Hatton stop Paulie? That was something Cotto couldn't do..

marquez was never ko'd and these guys are all shorter than listed cept for paul williams of course. hatton is 5'6 according to himself and celebheights and floyd was only a tiny bit taller than hatton(without floyds lifts)
