    Hatton vs Urango...?

HATTON TO VACATE WELTERWEIGHT TITLE TO FACE JUAN URANGO?
    By G. Leon

Reliable sources have informed **********.com that Ricky Hatton will vacate his WBA welterweight title in favor of a move back down to junior welterweight to reclaim his IBF title currently held by Juan Urango. When Hatton moved up to welterweight, Urango won the vacant title via controversial decision over Ben Rabah. Hatton had a mis-mandatory with Oktay Urkal due but obviously would prefer to move back down to his more natural weight. Hatton's promoter Artie Pelullo was unavailable for immediate comment. Hatton was originally slated to fight on HBO Dec. 2, but as reported exclusively by **********, Winky Wright now holds that date and undisputed middleweight champion Jermain Taylor will be fightin in Little Rock on December 9 therefore December 16 appears to be the earliest we should expect a Hatton-Urango bout to take place

So I guess he would prefer not to face mayweather (as reported by his own promoters) after all. Because his promoter said that they were going after the defense with Urkal definately, now hes gonna make the move back down? Im a little dissapointed. I hope the fight with Castillo comes through.

i dont like the move as a hatton fan, obviously, but it makes sense.

not only does he want his title back, but he also wants that big money fight with castillo.

If he loses a fight before then, that fight is off. he's gotta take a fight that he knows he can win.

If he signs this fight, we have a better chance at seeing a castillo-hatton FOTY fight.

The problem is that we have seen this over and over again, he hasnt been in with a marquee name since Tszyu and if he wants to build his fanbase in America, hes going have to do more than this. People already arent sold on him after his fight with Collazo even if it is at a higher weight, his style also doesnt sit well with US fight fans with all that clinching and holding. I thought by fighting Carlos Maussa he had enough of that "grabbing belts for the sake of grabbing them" ****. If Mayweather can be torn apart for taking a fight with the UNDISPUTED king of the 147, surely Hatton can take ALOT of heat for not getting in there with someone who really matters. Urango doesnt mean ****, i mean ****.

Are you serious? This sucks. Terrible decision IMHO. It could be used to set up a fight with castillo but.... Mayweather is up at 147, hes not going to play games with Hatton. Mayweather is what Hatton should be looking for not Castillo. Who cares if he has the belt anyhow? He had a belt at 147 so if Hattons logic is correct, hell beat this guy, and say oh some guy fought for my vacant 147 belt, ill move back up and fight him in order to get a fight with PBF, in an endless cycle. The logic sucks, he doesn't need a belt to make castillo fight him. This is just sad really T-T
