Yes, then when when you tell them it's, "Who's he? Where's he from?"“Why don’t they just hit each other? Why do they keep moving around and ducking?”
“I was a huge boxing fan back in the day. I still remember it like yesterday when Tyson bit that other guy.”
“Do they still get paid when they lose? By knockout also?”
And what I love is that these same people will ask you “who is fighting?”, as if they are going to know the fighters.
What are some of the memorable things you’ve heard from casuals over the years?
One ridiculous thing a casual fan said to me, after Tyson Fury beat Wlad, was, "Klitschko wasn't the real world champion anyway"
When I asked him who he thought the real world HW champion was, he told me, "I can't remember his name ... that American guy who knocked out Lennox Lewis .. you know .. 'let's go champ' ... that guy"Comment

I really do hate the “who’s fighting?” question.
There are very few fighters that people know right now:
Mayweather
Canelo
Pacquiao
Wilder
Tyson Fury (for KO’ing Wilder)
Anthony Joshua
Conor McGregor
GGG
People don’t even really know Andy Ruiz Jr. I have to say “the fat dude who beat AJ”.
Now in prison, talking to inmates about boxing, it’s easier because a lot of them do follow boxing and combat sports (as best they can). So they know more names.
A person would immediately show how much they know about boxing and you can go all out on them with the conversation.
Others, you could immediately tell they probably only know about as much boxing as TMZ reports on or is trending on Twitter...so like Mayweather, Canelo-GGG, Wilder, Mayweather-McGregor, Pacquiao, Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua. That’s about it. Forget about mentioning Srisaket Sor Rungvisai vs Roman Gonzalez.
The funny thing is how posters here like to call other posters “casuals” as an insult when their opinions don’t align, but that “casual” has more boxing knowledge in his pinky finger than an actual casual boxing fan.Comment

The "Insert Name" was a ROBBED in a close fight that could of went either way.
Or "So and so" is ducking! When the guys aren't even in the same weight class. Or when the smaller one moves up and doesn't fight the champ the very first fight at a new weight class.Comment
