Yup! And he left his fans shaking their heads while Canelo fans were booing GGG and then they turned that attention to GGg fans and laughed at them all the way until they got in their vehicles...

New here. I just have to say that Canelo didn't want to fight GGG again until DAZN went to Canelo with a new deal. I believe it's a 3 fight deal where he faces BJS, GGG and myrota or however you spell his damn name. Canelo is going to **** with GGG for the money. Nothing more, nothing less. So please stop saying that Canelo is trying to stall GGG out by letting him get a few years older. If it wasn't for the new deal, we wouldn't be having this discussion.

I don't see it any other way. It's also the only reason Canelo took the fight. He's very aware how far past prime Golovkin is.

On a side note. Leonard Duran doesn't compare. First fight a classic. 2nd fight fans were denied the outcome because of Duran. 3rd fight was the original Floyd Manny waist of time thanks to Ray not willing to engage.

Canelo's best opponent and best win is a highly controversial one against an over the hill overrated hype job.

Derv really worked GGG. I can't see Canelo doing less than that at this stage. This will be ugly.

As I've said before, Canelo should be a strong favourite for this fight -- as you point out, GGG took some lumps in his last fight.

BUT (ain't there always a but?)

It's a two-horse race. Upsets do happen. GGG hasn't ever been put on the floor. It's not so one sided to say -- as some have -- that there should be no interest in the fight. Canelo winning by KO would be a surprise for me.

Consider this scenario that I think is not without plausibility: let's say Golovkin fights a technical fight, predominantly fighting with his jab, refusing to engage in exchanges of any length and it ends in another close fight that goes to the cards. And the judges give it to Canelo.

Who would that reflect worse on: Canelo or Golovkin?

As I said, I don't think such an outcome is all that improbable. Would the narrative in such a case still be that Canelo has nothing to prove against GGG?
