Consider this scenario that I think is not without plausibility: let's say Golovkin fights a technical fight, predominantly fighting with his jab, refusing to engage in exchanges of any length and it ends in another close fight that goes to the cards. And the judges give it to Canelo.
Who would that reflect worse on: Canelo or Golovkin?
As I said, I don't think such an outcome is all that improbable. Would the narrative in such a case still be that Canelo has nothing to prove against GGG?
that is EXACTLY what he will doComment

What I don't understand about the Canelo lovers and GGG haters is that the consensus is that GGG should've won the first fight and could've easily got a draw in the second fight. Just think about that for a while. He should've won one of two of the fights for sure against a much younger fighter who has also tested positive multiple times yet according to Canelo lovers he's a bum and a hype job who was never any good. If that were truly the case, what does that say for the younger, juiced up Canelo? Not a hell of a lot that's for sure. I just don't understand that flawed logic.
Canelo is the greatest in the world because he narrowly edged GGG in the second fight and should've lost the first fight and GGG is garbage. Can someone explain that to me?Comment

If the Canelo fans can make sense out of this to you check with your doctor for a possible brain tumor. What I don't understand about the Canelo lovers and GGG haters is that the consensus is that GGG should've won the first fight and could've easily got a draw in the second fight. So can you please tell me what exactly Canelo's style is? Is it the running with minimum work rate that he showed in the first fight? Is it the staying in the pocket and trying to use lateral movement to pull on jabs but failing repeatedly which he showed in the rematch...Canelo definitely did a number on GGG's psyche. The guy constantly thumped his chest about epitomizing Mexican style and insisted that Canelo engage him in that type of fight, only to turn around and get battered and beaten by Canelo Mexican style. He then threw his trainer under the bus while claiming he doesn't really know about Mexican style because he's from California (not making this up lol)-- and changes his style for the worse with his new trainer. 38 is pretty old to not have an identity as a fighter, he'd better better find it within the next 172 days because he still looked lost in his last fight.Comment

How cute, Golovkin is closer to soothing his sore vagina.
Without Canelo GGG is nothing. This guy is basically stealing money from DAZN, he's the worst investment they ever made.Comment

So you're not counting jabs now no? The fight was mainly fought in the center of the ring and was a battle of jabs which GGG clearly won AND he hurt Canelo significantly on 2 occasions. I can understand if you called the fight a draw, it was a close fight, but to say there was "no way in hell" GGG won is quite frankly a ridiculous statement and its obvious you dont know how to score boxing fights properly.I think alot of people and the media wanted Canelo to lose that night because there's no way in hell GGG won that second fight I probably watched that fight 100 times and it becomes clearer Everytime that fight was not hard to score in the trilogy Canelo stops the old men and gets rid of him and his pathetic loving media that so much adores GGGComment
