Judah vs Cotto was probably my favorite Miguel Cotto fight 'The atmosphere surrounding the fight was awesome'.

Zab Judah really gave it everything in that fight.

up until the Paulie loss every time he'd lose when he stepped up what would happen was he'd have a stoppage or two win against someone totally unheralded then everyone would say Zab has his mind right and focused, he's back.......really he was never there, he was never very good or anywhere near elite or a special fighter.

Just a good athlete who happened to box.
Is he though? I thought up until Kostya Tszyu, he displayed a lot of potential and promise but after that fight, he was psychologically ruined. He was never the same fighter again. He was mentally broken.

Agreed . Zab atleast came in shape etc . He was just like a 6 year old with adhd trying to read or do a math equation . The guy couldnt focus for more than a few rounds and against the elite that spells disaster . Zab had it all on paper but when ur mind ain't in it that wont get u far . People like to say it's a shame , like zab pulled a broner and just didnt care , but I think its beyond that , I dont think he can focus properly some sort of adhd stuff going on to an extreme . Wirhiut the natural gifts and skill set he had he would have never been a two division champion or undisputed at welterweight . Imagine he had all his downfalls in line what he could have achieved ??!! zab just lacked the mind focus and heart to become the great fighter he seemed destined to be . Remember how high max kellerman used to be on judah in his first ESPN days ?? He figured he was the next coming of ray Robinson. I think before we saw judah fall apart a few times or just show up only in the flesh for some big fights it was safe to say he had the potential to be an all time great .....my how max was wrong.

That's when zab started to show some dog in him . The cotto fight was of his best showings. Funny how most remember his big losses when they think of zab . The chicken dance vs kosta. The front running early lead vs mayweather , and a gutsy performance vs Cotto where he showed heart and determination, something most thought didnt exist within zab . He even closed off his career with a decent run dropping back down to 140 to beat marhysse and mabuza and pick up the ibf jr welter strap for a second time . Crazy to think that alot of people think of zab as an underachiever when hes a 4 time world champion , 2 division world champion , and former undisputed world champion . People really had high Hope's for him , maybe that's part of what got to him mentally . Either way I was always a big zab fan . When he lost to malignaggi I knew he was finished . That was liekly paulie's best win or close to .

A lot of talent, not much skills or IQ.

He's definitely one of the fastest fighters I've ever seen in regards to pure hand speed.

So that's likely why. He just wasn't good enough.

Still, he had a good career. Won alot of titles including a Lineal and was also in the Top 10 P4P list at one point for a short period.

He passes the eye test to people who KSAB, and has lost to ATGs, he fought everyone he could, and beat who he could. He could have been much more but like ODLH, he was irresponsible outside the ring.

Well he unified..... Beat the best version of Mattysee.

And had more success vs Floyd than most.

But yeah he was underrated over overhyped at same time

The guy is an ATG because of that incident when he started sh#t with a bunch of thugs in white tees shooting dice in Miami. Video was shot on a sh#tty early 2000’s camera on a phone. At the end of the vid he starts hyping himself up and playing to the camera!

                    [IMG][/IMG]

Also is an ATG for the funniest chicken dance KO against Tszyu.

Zab fight with Danny Garcia was plenty of fun. No one mentioned it yet!
