First is either / or, second is Floyd, though not quite the whitewash it's sometimes hailed as...

FWIW - and just for interests sake - I noticed the Boxstat punchstats for Castillo - Mayweather I just recently and they're quite a way different from the the Compubox on the night stats.

(Boxstat compile their stats from Slo-mo footage after the event and claim to be more accurate, though I'd leave that for you to decide... one of the dudes runs it used to post on here sometimes way back)

Boxstat has Floyd landing 168 of 506 and Castillo landing 127/582

    https://boxrec.com/media/index.php/J...._(1st_meeting)

Compubox has Floyd landing 157/448 and Jose landing 203/506

IDK You gotta judge for yourselves but the story Boxstat seem to tell is that Floyd was doing a good job of slipping and blocking and far less of Castillo's punches actually landed with effect than were counted by Compubox on the night. You'll have to make your own minds up, but FWIW I do believe the Boxstat guys make every effort to do a thorough and accurate job...

Besides it's a fight that definitely bears watching over so...

Nah... that wasn’t a clear win for either guy.

I think Floyd is a scumbag but I thought he edged the first fight 7-5 (114-112 after the deductions) I think the draw is fair and I wouldn’t argue strongly against Castillo getting the verdict by 2 rounds.

It pretty much comes down to whether you reward effective aggression or efficiency and technique.

The judges were far too wide in favour of Floyd and guys like Lederman were far too far in favour of Castillo with their cards and that’s what’s created these narratives that either guy won clearly. The reality is it was an extremely close and competitive fight.

I’ll have to score the fight again since I have all this free time. I do remember scoring it when I was younger and my cards have always been spot on. Clear Castillo win but I’ll revisit it.

That’s pretty much how I see it Koba, the first fight is a case of what you like... Castillo’s aggression or Floyd’s efficiency. In the second fight Mayweather made enough adjustments to win closely but also more decisively than the first fight.

man i respect your opinion because of the pick em, i think i need to watch the fight again

rewatching fights is interesting, like re-reading books, your opinions can change on things

i used to think castillo won, but now i see it as an either/or. maybe i should watch it again, and change my mind once more (damn, is this poetry?)

I think it depends what you like mate, do you value Castillo’s aggression and consistency over Floyd’s efficiency and quality...

how clear are you talking? Like 8-4? If you gave every swing round to Castillo it’s not unthinkable tbf. I think it would be a harsh card but I can understand the logic behind it.

100%... rewatching fights often provides a different perspective. In regards to controversial fights I often watch then several times, sometimes I give every swing round to one guy and then the next time give every swing round to the other guy just to help understand the different perspectives.

Castillo was robbed. Ironically, Floyd used his shoulder as an excuse for his performance in that fight. I also felt Oscar and Maidana 1 beat him too.

First off Floyd lost the first fight with Castillo, however it was very close, It was Floyd’s first fight at 135 and he was outweighed by 9 pounds. It was a good tough fight and Floyd showed mad heart by fighting chest to chest with a bigger man in the later rounds but I had him Losing...

Way too many people keep on bringing this fight up to try and “damage” Floyd’s career, it’s ridiculous, he adapted and showed who the better fighter was in the 2nd fight...Castillo also called Floyd the best, smartest boxer he ever faced, give it a rest

Oh and for people saying Maidana beat Floyd you’re moving into delusional territory, it’s as if you turned the fight off after the 6th round just stop

But it doesn’t matter in the scheme of things if Floyd lost one fight...he’s still the best of the last generation
