Who is a better commentator: Andre Ward or Paulie Malignaggi?

For me, Paulie all day...Paulie's main flaw imo is he tends to give more rounds than deserved to the more feather fisted guy, as Paulie was one of those.

Ward similarly scores rounds for those types of fighters, as he was not really a big puncher in his career either...but Ward really made a career of making duplicitous comments as a fighter, and because he wasn't a huge star/reporters still wanted access to him, he didn't get really get called on it...it just would have been a bit silly for him to get called on it those circumstances.

Basically every comment Ward makes about a fight/fighter is in some way intended to make Ward look better...that's how it comes off...very disingenuous and self-serving imho.

Paulie tends to more call it like he sees it and often times appears to get it really correct...he tends to have much less bias imo and certainly much less intentional bias.

I like Ward as a commentator. So long as he doesn't talk about anything to do with himself, his comments are usually on point. Sometimes I wonder what Pauli is even looking at.

I honestly really like both. They were both world champion boxers who also articulate very well and knowledge is on point, we haven't had many of those in history

There are soooo many sour Kovalev and GGG fans which will crap on Ward in this thread, but the truth is he is very very good

You know what , I find both are very good
Paulie is more fluent and to the point faster and easier to comprehend
Ward sometimes goes deeper , more fundamentals

Man idk...a guy who 1) tries to sue his promoter 3 times, losing every time

2) says he got dropped for the first time in his career vs Kov, when we all know Boone dropped him too and

3) the whole situation with Bute - saying during the super 6 the winner should fight him...then when Ward won, saying Bute hadn't done enough...then getting 'pissed' when Bute signed to fight Froch

Lol I mean I just don't see how anyone can really take him seriously man...and none of that stuff has to do with GGG or Kov at all (the part mentioning Kov in the 2nd point is incidental to the point there), and there are many other similar comments from him...and then as a commentator, I can basically predict his scorecard or thoughts on a fight before he gives them lol.

He seems like overall a pretty good dude...but yeah just kind of talks out of both sides of his mouth...with fighters in general I don't mind when they do that, they have to self-promote...but you at least have to call them on it, and no one really does/did that with Ward.
