Both are good. Pauli will speak his mind no matter what.

Ward is more politically correct and will stick to the basics.

I like Paulie when they're on the fly, but Ward when they are sitting down to discuss later.

Paulie. Ward is working as a paid shill and has his lines scripted or he gets salty if someone is getting props for being good.
He's an overrated graceless idiot who retired way too soon, Beterbiev would devour that creep.

My thing with Ward is while I don't think he is always wrong in these situations...I can almost always tell what his opinion is going to be...and it is based on trying to slight any fighter who could be in competition with him, even though he isn't active anymore lol:

          1) Crawford fight...saying he got dropped, which he did...but as a friend of Crawford, you may expect him to kind of skirt around that issue...but I wasn't surprised that the more important thing to Dre there was to make Crawford look bad/not that great.

          2) Loma-Campbell...I again actually agreed with Ward's card vs Campbell...almost to the round...it again though was an opportunity for him to make that fight with Loma as close as possible, so he could try to slight him...it would have been an especially odd card for Ward too considering how Ward usually scores rounds for guys like Loma, as evidenced by his cards in the Fury-Wilder fight and GGG-Canelo fight.

          3) which brings me to those two fights lol...he scored it wide for Fury vs Wilder...some say that was correct...I had it a draw in fight 1...but again I could have predicted that he would give Fury every round basically that he could, to try and take Wilder down a notch.

          4) Canelo-GGG 2...he had it to Canelo and said he clearly won or something like that...again his response was all too obvious.

          5) Canelo-Kovalev build up...recent comments about Canelo...now that Canelo kind of passed GGG, Ward makes comments about Canelo about how he is selective with opponent selection, and how Kov is kind of washed...both true comments, but again, very OPPORTUNISTIC would be the word perhaps

I have little doubt that he will probably try and slight Fury in some way in the next few months/fights as well...now that Fury is kind of the king of the hill, Ward will want to knock him down a peg...just how he is I guess.

You sir, have spotted that guy's schtick and nailed it. He always wants to slight guys or make sneaky comments to put himself above. Meanwhile he got a gift V Kov 1 and avoided Stevenson and Beterbiev.
Can't stand the guy ,- wish more people could see through him like you do.

Paulie is better, despite his biases. Ward is just as boring behind the mic as he was in the ring.

They are both good. Better than most. I think Paulie is better.

Thanks man, appreciate it...never really understood why Ward got such a pass for some comments/things he did...but oh well that is boxing/life lol.

Pauli has more personality but Pauli has a nasally voice. It's a tough call

Paulie gives it to the listeners fast with his quick Brooklyn accent. Ward slows it down, not sure if he even has an “Oakland” accent because I have no clue how they sound over there. Paulie is fast, Ward speaks slower. Both are better than I, or anyone on this forum would ever be as boxing analysts/commentators. I think Paulie is a quick thinker and very good at analyzing both fighters in the ring.

We can think about our opinions, type it, backspace it, retype, proo-read, edit it. They say everything in real time as the fight goes on. You have to have an excellent boxing brain for that. Don’t really have a favorite but I do like Paulie’s quick talking style.
