In your opinion, how impressive was Floyd's win over Hatton?

Fight was a showcase of floyd’s skills and ability to adjust.
But at that time there were better welters than hatton.. it was slightly considered a cherry picked too since hatton was a small welter, and would’ve gotten his ass beat by cotto, margarito, clottey and moselys of the world during that time.
If you just look at the fight itself it was indeed impressive.. but if you look at the whole narrative, not as much.
Same as his marquez fight.. that was every bit of a masterclass. But the narrative was he made the other dude climb two weight divisions when there were many others calling him out... and then proceeded to cheat marquez on the scale by a significant lbs.
Pac fight he won too, but it’s six years too late. So....
Narrative and facts behind the fight matters to me..
It will soon be all forgotten though, since new born fans will just look on paper and say “oh this is really impressive with all the names in his resume” without knowing the actual reality during the times that the fights were happening.Comment

Canelo was green as a cucumber at the ELITE LEVELYou dudes are clowns
A 22 year old fighter fighting a 36 year old fighter and you say the 22 year old was green....
In every other instance of a 22 year old vs a 36 year old. The 22 year old is expected to beat the old head.
But when it comes to Floyd, the 22 year old is green and shouldn't be in the ring.
You dudes are hypocrites of the highest order.
He had no experience fighting top level fighters (who weren't shot to **** like Mosley) at that point, with the sole exception of one hit wonder Austin Trout
Floyd saw Canelo's weaknesses to movement in that fight, and got to Canelo before ginger could get more experience and reach his PRIME
yeah, for all the past prime fighters Floyd fought, here he fought someone who hadn't reached his prime yet
he also weight drained the ginger for good measure, which is just disgraceful. Canelo couldn't even make 154 at the time, much less a bull**** cw of 152. dude looked like a sluggish zombie, worst version of Canelo ever. just like he fought the worst version of JMM ever.
The same Floyd that fought Canelo would never dare to fight current PRIME, non weight drained Canelo, because he'd lose
you floyd fans are delusional fanboys of the highest orderLast edited by lopetego; 03-10-2020, 11:57 PM.Comment

Well historians will say Hatton looked pretty flat when he stepped up in weight prior against Collazo and that he was already on the decline when he fought Mayweather. However his performance regardless of any of those things was quite masterful! I do wish the ref hadn't been quite so busy but I don't think it would have changed the outcome, it was inevitable. Mayweather was just too good for himComment

Id say it was 6 out of 10 win.. Floyd had home advantage, ref help, Hatton was nearly beaten a couple of times prior to Floyd beating hatton.Comment
