If I was Kownacki's handlers, I'd have had him take the AJ fight. I think it depends on what you think your fighter's ceiling is. Realistically, I never envisioned Kownacki having a sustained run that would be worth passing on a career payday. It was pretty obvious to see there were serious flaws in the Martin fight, he looked like he was throwing punches under water they were so slow. I'm not sure his flaws are completely fixable.
If I'm handling a fighter who has more potential and upside and can correct his flaws, I would be more likely to pass on the money.
