I thought he beat Parker honestly, but can see it the other way. Close fight.

and to respond to your previous statement, I think the reason people laugh at Hughie is because he does **** like that abattoir photoshoot lol

I think Hughie is the very example of a confidence based boxer. There is no denying his skillset, shot selection and fundamentals. However when he's faced against a perceived threat, he goes into hyper think tank mode and just can't get his shots off. Must be incredibly frustrating for his father and trainer to watch

the fight was a joke....this was a blatant confidence booster of a fight and nothing more.
try and make it less obvious next time please, people paid money/wasted time to see an overmatched opponent get beat down to give a defeated young man some confidence.
THE BIGGEST COMPLAINT about hughie is that he doesnt let his hands go...his straight right and straight left as he switches stances. in this fight however, all he was doing from the opening round was trying to land a big shot WITHOUT even setting it up with a jab. how INSULTING to the non-casual boxing crowd. you had such confidence that your opponent was a cherrypicked BUM that you didnt even respect him enough to try and box him a little and set up your shots - you came at him like he was some guy you dragged off the street for a highlight KO.
we didnt learn SHYT about hughie this fight - he got hit A LOT! what he needed to do was show off his boxing ability and defensive abilities while also IMPLEMENTING what he has been training for and what he has been lacking all his career- which is to land some strong straight power shots with his feet planted, but NOT to neglect his defense and movement and boxing ability.
if he fights like this against a ranked guy, he'll get KTFO. he isnt strong enough or powerful enough to EVER fight like he just did against a real HW, so from a learning perspective this fight was one big fuccing waste of time...other than a blatant confidence boost.
some positives: he is looking more toned, which is a good sign. his body is starting to look more like a man's and not a boy's. he has decent power when he plants his feet, but nothing we can really take from it (and nothing we havent already seen him show)...its not gonna be so easy to land on a good HW.
all in all a waste of a fight unless you are a casual who just wanted to see a KO. insulting fight, not a win to be proud of. hughies strength lies in his defensive abilities, not coming forward as if he is some HW titan with KO power. would love to see him fight like that against any top 15 HW and see his face get re-arranged.
