Great news. It’s the biggest fight I’ve been waiting on.

It's pretty much past it's shelf life as a compelling fight but I'm down regardless. Golovkin definitely showing some signs of being shopworn and Canelo coming into his physical peak. Canelo should be able to beat him by clear decision or possibly late TKO depending on how much Golovkin has deteriorated as a fighter.

BJS fight should be interesting. He's boring but he has a style that drags his opponent into the same snail's pace. It would make for a different kind of challenge for Canelo.

Murata fight doesn't really interest me but is still tune in.

DAZN has a problem going forward they are guaranteeing 35M for Canelo no matter who he fights because he drives the subscribers but for his opponents only so much money. And the amount for his opponents asking price has become inflated. When Dervy was being discussed DAZN was forcing Canelo to pay the additional money from his own purse to pay Dervy. The additional money Saunders is asking for has to either come out Canelo's pocket or Golden Boy's pocket. DAZN coming in saying let's sign a deal to fight GGG in sept we will expand the budget to pay Saunders and pay you more money to fight GGG. That sounds fine to land the GGG fight and they make up money in that big fight. But after GGG lesser fighters will now ask for the same amount of money Saunders is getting. DAZN is literally bidding against themselves continuing to set precedent for how much B side fighters demand.

Dervy who never made more then half a mil asked 6-7M because Jacobs got 11M. Kovalev asked for 12M because of Jacobs purse. Saunders asking for 9-10M and turned down 7M because Kovalev got 12M. If Saunders get's say 8M in this deal to land a GGG fight. After GGG how much is Charlo going to demand 20M? DAZN has to reset the market price and start putting their foot down on ridiculous asking prices. None of these fighters can make even half these crazy prices fighting anyone else on any other network. But they keep asking based on the last overprice DAZN gave.

DAZN gave Golovkin a very lucrative contract -- way beyond anything that could be justified in terms of economics and then they let Golvokin fight uber drivers and field hands. I don't understand that. Nor do I understand DAZN's fanatical obsession with a third Canelo fight. Even during his best days, GGG was a mediocre draw on PPV and now less so on DAZN. Now they are going shell out more money to Canelo, Saunders and Murata to ensure the GGG trilogy. Besides that, this move by DAZN practically neuters Oscar and Golden Boy. It is an expensive and risky move all around by DAZN.

We can have it both ways, he lost the first fight, barely won the second fight and then said the guy isn't worthy of fighting him? According to Canelo, GGG has to prove himself and earn another shot, what exactly has GGG done since their fight to meet those requirements? Nothing, so now that he's 2 years older all of a sudden he's willing to fight him...

He ran from the trilogy, now he's fine accepting it because GGG is 2 years older and that much slower.

Wrong! It is all about the Benjamins. It is a smart financial move by Canelo and his team.

And yet DAZN is ok with GGG and Andrade fighting bums instead making them fight tough fights. They are only making Canelo fight tough fights and will only approve certain names yet all the other MWs are allowed to fight nobodies

Cakewalk should be tasty. Canelo vs BJ won't be. It would be a boring chase of Billy on his bicycle working circles in the ring. Billy is way too elusive to be KO'd and Canelo has too much of a skill and chin to be KO'd by Billy's soft fists. But because Canelo is 118-110, still in his prime, DAZN's hope to survive + his skills, I'd say a unanimous decision for Canelo. Close-shmose.

I'll read the headlines on this site once the fight is over to confirm my prediction.
