I live about 10 minutes drive away from him, man, used to live right round the corner from where the Hatton Gym is now. Drop in if you ever find yourself over this side of the pond.

100% he's a good dude, Redd, like you say - agree or not you gotta respect how he gets his points across. Think he's got a bit sick of all the bullchit on here too, though, definitely not as active as he was.I see him pop up quite often. I don't really keep tabs on him like that, but when I see he started a thread or commented on something I try to take a look cuz he's got good opinions & logic on his stances even if I might disagree with him on a specific topic at times. March is the same. And there are several guys here like that that I'm not mentioning to to be fair but for every Redd or March there are like 20 dipsh^ts & bad trolls.Comment

When new members join, only legitimate, good posts should be approved. Posts that actually positively contribute to a discussion. Need to make 10-20 before you become a fully fledged member.
This. It needs some strong moderation though.Ban half the dumbasses who make a ridiculous amount of posts about the loser of a major fight.
Ban the fanboys who make excessive threads about their favorite fighters (the Johncastallanos types).
Ban the idiots who try too hard to make us all take sides between PBC, Matchroom and Top Rank.Comment

Forget that, red or green blocks mean nothing. If I say something bad about the PBC or a PBC fighter, even if I back it up with facts and proof for why I've said it. I get lots of red k off but hurt PBC fans. My point may of been valid but that matters not.
Red and green blocks would mean something if they were dished out by sensible members but any old idiot can do it.Comment

More consistency with approach on racism. They permabanned freedom for posting on caste football but they allow people from LDBC on to the site. I see white supremacist /kkk insults all the time but if you refer to someone as part of the demographic then you are banned.Comment

If you have someone on the ignore list not only should it block their posts but also block the threads they create on NSB.Comment

Funny thing is on here, mostly if you can get past all the ego and bullchit and have the patience not to rise to every ****** bait, you find that pretty much everyone on here has something to add and is passionate about the sport - it's just about finding a way to tap into that and get folk to put aside the factionalism. Problem is it takes work and it takes patience and I get that most of us just come here to chill relax and talk some bullchit... last thing we wanna do is work, but I reckon a bit of graft is exactly what it'll take. It's down to those who have the time or the will to put up the good threads, talk the boxing and the rest of us to support those threads and participate in 'em - show what we want.
Thing is it doesn't actually take a lot -say most of us obsessive motherfuckers are on here at least browsing an hour or more a day... maybe spend at least half an hour actually writing some ish. But if every one of us just spent 10 or 15 minutes of that time putting up a prospect thread or an analysis of a lesser known but exemplary fight some ish like that this place would quickly turn around I reckon- or at least be much improved.
Just takes the elbow grease, man, putting in the time - and persistence. And even if it didn't change the overall tone of the forum at all, what you lost?Comment

With the exception of the occasional racism, I really enjoy my read on these boards. The forum could probably do with a facelift, VB is a little 2010 but it's not overly cumbersome and nobody really likes change initially anyway. There are posters i've learned to simply take almost no notice of and there are others who i'll happily read every single post from. For the vast majority, providing you aren't an ******* to begin with, I see very little unwarranted aggro. (exceptions always exist
)
If I could make one suggestion though, it would probably be to lock threads after 30 days of having no new activity (on NSB only). I know this is sometimes an unpopular choice but from my experience at least, it can make for a cleaner forum. For example you see 17 page threads being dug up and this immediately starts taking the attention away from current events and talking points. The thread is very often revived by somebody trying to troll or incite an argument of some kind. It's not a huge deal, just something i've noticed.Comment
