Ways to improve the forum

Was just thinking about ways to improve the forum

One I thought of was trying to get some fighters - past or present, or other figures (judges/refs/promoters...ring girls here on the forum periodically for some Q and As.

I would think the mods and site owners would like it as well as it would drive traffic and maybe bring some new eyes in to stay.

I think it would also help lead to better boxing discussions on here...as people around the sport have some good insights usually, and can critique their peers better and more accurately generally than the average poster on here...maybe that could rub off on some here.

Maybe a once a week Q and A?

Any other ideas?

Exactly 0 other good ideas right now, but that is definitely a great one. A weekly/monthly Reddit ama style deal would be great

Yeah I wonder if they've tried that before...I assume there are some guys on here who may have some connections

That's a really good idea as well...I wonder if the owners would ever go for it...more threads the better probably in their opinion

Yeah this or at least limit the threads per day for normal users.

The AMA style idea is a good one too but would need to be HEAVILY moderated as to embarrass us too badly.

Ban half the dumbasses who make a ridiculous amount of posts about the loser of a major fight.

Ban the fanboys who make excessive threads about their favorite fighters (the Johncastallanos types).

Ban the idiots who try too hard to make us all take sides between PBC, Matchroom and Top Rank.

The AMA style idea is a good one too but would need to be HEAVILY moderated as to embarrass us too badly.

Yes would need to really have a lot of questions submitted beforehand or something...moderation would be good...that or some bans for guys who ask inappropriate questions.

Banning was the first thing that came to my mind lol...and even if I got caught up in the bans it would probably be good for the forum overall to rid them of that type of stuff so I am for it in theory.

Only issue I think is that you unload a lot of 'nuts' out into the wild and I would almost prefer to keep them here in a contained environment...would kind of feel bad taking away a platform like this for some of those guys...you can tell some almost need it in some way, and I hope that over time some guys who are a bit more extreme will moderate and become more of a real boxing fan rather than a rather insecure fan-boy...one can hope anyway.

change the format. The current one is bland, with bland colors. It will help them with traffic if it was more visual appealing to post on here.
