I don’t disagree with your point about b hop.
You guys need to stop with the double standard stuff. You simply can’t compare real racism, the kind that we’ve seen in America for hundreds of years, with comments that a fighter may or may not make.
Of course if someone white made comments it would be taken differently. That is because white people, but particularly white men, occupy positions of power and access that others don’t. Further, there is a history of racism that other groups don’t have.
We can’t just pretend that all races occupy an equal place in American society. We also need to stop pretending that every group that looks to help people of color can be equated to the white racist organizations that have actively participated in murder and violence.
Its definitely wrong for bhop to have said that but that doesn’t make him the equivalent of a **** or klansman when he said it.Comment

Sorry to say it but Merchant has some point here, i must confess
I think since the Klitschko era, many African-American boxing fans have been hoping and clinging for an African-American HW champion, and many clinged to Wilder, because he reps his blackness quite blatantlyComment

Dontae has a point. Merchant was happy to see an American lose to a foreigner. Just because the American was black and the foreigner was white.
We are supposed to be fiercely patriotic and stand for the flag and the playing of the national anthem etc. But when it comes to supporting a black American over a white man from another country that all goes out the window for some people.
These are the hard truths and hypocrisy that many don't want to admit.
Wilder was happy to alienate 75-85% of that population with his Black Pride rhetoric.
