He said he had been happy ever since Tyson Fury won. How many commentators do you know who express such glee after one of their countrymen has just lost to a foreigner?

He essentially said he has been happy since the fight because it was such a great event, virtually everything positive he said related to the return of a big-time heavyweight event in the US.

US boxing commentators are generally less parochial than foreign countries, for numerous reasons, the sheer size of the place being the major one.

Ok. That's just plain ignorant. The concept of clan and tribe loyalty is as old as people. Tribes went so far as to brand and tattoo their young men so as to make them distinct.

I agree, but that can be said for everyone. How about B-Hop getting a pass when saying he'd never lost to a 'white boy'? Isn't that direct racism in some form? That's far worse than anything that I have ever heard Merchant say. They both were working for HBO at that time.

What if Klitschko said something like that when he was still winning? It's a double standard.
