I understand but you gotta take the opponent into account with performances too. Can’t just give major props to a dude for getting the stoppage. Yafai was right there in front of RG, fighting his fight like a novice. You wouldn’t think this guy had 150 amateur wins.

Yafai has never fought anyone, he has like 15KO’s. What weight class did RG started at 108lbs? And went down to 105lbs for a little while, and this fight was at 115lbs. So we will say Gonzalez was 10lbs over the lowest weight class he has been in.

Mikey fought as low as 126lbs where he got his first major title at. Now he is at 147lbs, so he is 21lbs higher than his lowest class, and he is in his 5th weight class and was fighting a guy who was actually moving around the ring. It wasn’t like Vargas went toe to toe with Mikey, especially not after the KD. So Mikey had to deal with size, movement, and not getting caught with anything himself from a Vargas who was desperately head hunting. Vargas has also been there with some of the best fighters, so Mikey wasn’t fighting some undefeated dude who hasn’t fought anyone.

And yeah, I know what people are gonna say, going from 108 to 115lbs is a ton of weight for the smaller guys (IDK how but whatever). But you know what? It’s more common than going from 126lbs to 147lbs.

In other words, you gotta look at the opponent that is being knocked out when comparing performances.

    • Jesse sounds female...

Vargas should be banned from calling himself mexican. He's the living proof that even mediocre ones can be champs. What a piece of caca. 787-248-4137

Mikey looked real good. He is clever and deceiving. I also watched the fight and what I saw was brilliant. I picked Vargas to be too big for Mikey. For the first couple rounds, Mikey was lulling Vargas to sleep. Mikey didn’t really do anything except download data and figure out the range at which he needed to fight.

Several rounds in, Mikey figured out he needed to be a little closer to Vargas. Once Mikey closed that distance a little it was almost as if it was a different fight. Mikey couldn’t miss and Vargas couldn’t land. Mikey beat the piss out of Vargas. I thought the fight would be stopped a couple times which would have been incredible. Mikey proved to me that he belongs at 47 and also now carries his power.

          War Mikey!

          • Lipinets is probably the only top 10 ( By the Ring) beatable guy for Mikey at 147. And he already beat him.

Mikey Garcia on Matchroom Deal: I Want To Keep My Freedom
              December 28, 2019

After a pact with PBC expired, Garcia inked a one-fight deal with Matchroom Boxing for $7 million to fight Jessie Vargas on Feb. 29 in Texas on DAZN.

“It was the right move, the right time and right fight at this stage of my career,” Garcia told BoxingScene.com in an interview. “We’d been in conversations with Matchroom and DAZN for over a year and a half, but it had never gotten to the point where it made sense for both of us. Now it did. The fight and opponent makes sense for me.

“I told Eddie Hearn, ‘I want to keep my freedom.’ My Matchroom deal is more of a partnership. We made it clear. Once the [Vargas] fight is over, we both have to have flexibility to discuss future fights together. I’m not tied down with long-term years, or fights..."

“[Haymon] offered a lot of things, too, but this time I wanted to explore some things differently that made sense,” said Garcia. “I’ve done a lot of work with Al Haymon. In fact, we still have conversations about fighters I can face. We’re still working there. I don’t have anything negative to say about anybody. I didn’t leave on bad terms. We still have a great relationship with PBC.”

Mikey Garcia is making a very wise business move. He doesn't want Matchroom and Eddie Hearn to own his soul. I don't blame him. He wants the freedom to go and come about as he so pleases; Very good for Mikey!

Mikey is about his business! I don't understand why people have so much hate? Seems they rather have fighters totally ignorant, broke, and punch drunk by 30!

Acne in the back can come from legal supplements. I know some people with that problem.

Even some people without taking anything has back acne.
