I see Crawford as the next fighter to 'do a wilder'

I.e fight weak opposition (at the very least neither have beat an elite fighter) all his career and lose when he steps it up to cash out late on in his career. Now before people start crying, Crawford is clearly technically way better than wilder (but didn't broner and charlo 'clearly pass the eye test' too?) but there's been warning signs already at welterweight, and he's spent his whole career fighting limited opposition. Also on a side note it's funny how Crawford is p4p top 3 for dominating 140 but when Taylor beats better fighters at that Weight he's not even in the top 10 and the division is 'weak', wonder why that is.... Anyway also a similarity in sense that they both had no interest in fighting an elite guy until they sensed they were weakened - wilder was desperate to fight fury after he'd put on 100lbs, Crawford started calling out spence saying fights gotta happen now as soon as he stumbled out of intensive care.
And im in no way a crawford fan.
Don’t act like didn’t call out spence before. He even talked to him face to face with arum by his side. And spence was like “you on the other side bro”
If spence wanted it to happen as well he would have told arum right in there “pls let’s make it happen”
But he knows it ain’t part of haymon’s plan. So let’s play the “on the other side of the street bro”..
Then suddenly porter vs crawford can happen???!!!!
I thought porter was also on the other side???Comment

Broner wasn't the next p4p king. But he won like 4 (something like that) world titles, dude could fight. Charlo lost to a really good fighter in Harrison, then knocked him out in an immediate rematch to reclaim his belt. They passed the test, period.
You don't have to be the p4p best fighter in the world to be a good fighter. Naturally one always wonders just how far someone can go, in some cases the expectations are limitless. Just because someone doesn't live up to that don't make them trash.
Crawford unified a division entirely! How can you fight limited competition when you beat everyone? I know it wasn't the best division at the time. But to act as if being undisputed champion means nothing is just silly.
Crawford has a very good resume, not just who he beat but how he beat them also. It's not Canelo like, but who's resume is? It's still one of the best in the sport right now.
For the record you are right that Taylor is a tremendous fighter, but to act as if his accomplishments are on par with Crawford is kind of silly. Even just at 140. Again, Crawford unified the whole division, Taylor has two belts which is impressive but only half way to what Crawford accomplished. If Taylor knocked out Ramirez in two rounds with all the belts on the line he would be a top 5 p4p fighter too in peoples eyes.
But back to Wilder and Crawford.. They have both been calling for the big fights for years! Wilder wanted to fight Joshua for years, you can't blame him for jumping at the chance to take on Fury who actually had the stones to step up.
For that matter, you do realize the inspiration of this whole thread was Wilder taking on Fury a second time? And he wants to do it a third time. That kind of negates your whole, "he only fought Fury because he had put on weight" nonsense. This is the same guy who took on the most avoided guy in the division in Ortiz not once but twice!

Mikey is even bigger and younger than the Pacman who beat Vargas... But we'll see...Comment

crawford is far more skilled and well rounded than wilder.
His career aint going nowhere now though. Hes 32 and refuses to fight any PBC fighters. Father time will get him. Hes aging and not developing his skills while feasting on these uber drivers.
Wilder atleast fought the best heavyweight in the world twice.
Crawford who is far more skilled refuses to fight the best welters in the world.Comment

Oh please
Wilder had never fought a primed boxer puncher like fury. It was also his first elite fighter. Wilder has also never faced a puncher as well someone who has fast hands and can swarm you like ruiz. Crawfords proved himself against every kind of fighter; pure boxers like gamboa, punchers like john molina rough dirty fighters like horn. Crawford essentially is like fury who clearly had the skills and the eye test but needs a dance partner he can beat like fury did wilder to get his recognition and stop the whats and ifsComment

Crawford is much better than Wilder. He always wins with much room to spare and never has just barely won or come from behind to win. He fights the best fighters he can, His promoter could have gotten him better fights but he failed to do so. Crawford does everything very well. He is very fast, and can box, punch and take a punch. He cleaned out and unified 140. He wanted to fight Spence before the car crash. You seem to have a dislike for him since this is not your first anti Crawford thread. You like Taylor well enough and Taylor is very good. But from what I have seen of both boxers Crawford would beat Taylor in my opinion.Comment
