Quit Whining about Quartey v.s. Forrest

It was a close fight, and I don't understand where all these outlandish agendas are coming from.

I've read people go to the extent of wanting to "Petition" for "Changes" because of the scoring in this fight.

    That's absolutely ridiculous.

All Ike did.....was walk foward and throw one punch at a time, while Forrest was tagging him with the jab.

I scored the fight even, and Forrest's activity won it for him.

I had it 5 a piece as I've said, but with the point deduction, I had it for Ike. I don't see how anybody could have Forrest winning. That's the only reason people are so upset. A draw would have been acceptable, but probably not a Forrest victory. But I do agree, Ike didn't do anything spectacular. I thought they both fought like **** and were on cruise control. That should have been a 12 rounder anyway. Once you go 12, you shouldn't go back, title or not, because that would have solved a lot I think judging by the way Ike was almost gassed at the end.

It's easy to see how Ike could impress someone in that fight. I like the guy BTW, but he didin't fight a smart fight.

He should have been more active when coming foward.....because even though he was landing the jab at times, he was getting outboxed from the outside.

I had the fight scored 5 rounds to 4 with 1 even in favor of Forrest.

I guarantee it ends up being one of those fights where people look bad and admit it was close. Lederman was just ****ing insane with his scorecard, and most people just go by that every time out. I'm almost to the point where I don't look at his card because I know it's ****. I was watching Toney vs. Ruiz the other day, and I was just amazed how Lederman AND the judges all gave Ruiz more than 3 rounds. Obviously they gave Ruiz every close round in case their scorecard looked bad compared to the other two. I hate judges.

Good posts. I had it a draw even with the point reduction because Forrest won that round making it a 9-9 round, and I scored an even round 8. Lederman is out of his mind, he scores rounds for the guy walking forward even if hes not landing anything. but since hes walking forward he gets the round.

I just watched the fight & thought that Forrest won no more than 4 rounds. I wouldn't call it a robbery but it was just a bad decision. Quartey was the aggressor landing his jab at will & Forrest back pedaling trying to flurry but catching mostly gloves when he let his hands go. Even Forrest demeanor after the end of the last round suggested that he knew he didn't win the fight & when his name was announced he looked like Shane Mosely after the second DLH fight & went nuts.

This is what I find funny though... you guys say you scored it a draw or close. That's the closest somebody can seem to get, who is at least somewhat rational, to scoring it for Forrest. I can get a close fight, since my scorecard could easily have given some more rounds to Forrest, but no way did he do enough, which is the obvious problem.

I never scream robbery, but that was one. If you want to score it close that's fine, but I honestly don't fathom how anybody could've actually scored it a W for Forrest.

Forrest's stiff arm punching style doesn't impress fans, and it never really has....unless he knocks his opponent out.

Fans hear the "PFFT" noise Ike was making while walking foward throwing 1 punch at a time.

Forrest threw almost twice as many punches as Quartey did.....and was landing two and three piece combos upstairs and downstairs.

But Quartey did? The problem is that everyone is acting like Quartey was robbed so bad, acting like he was impressive or something, but he didn't do enough to win the damn fight either. I agree that Forress didn't deserve a UD, possibly a SD but no way he did enough to warrant some of those scores on the cards. But at the same time neither did Quartey. That's why my card came out a draw, Quartey lost late rounds because he was gassed and Forrest was just active enough to win those rounds.

I actually felt like Quartey won.I did not watch the fight carefully enough to score it since I had some people over but especially with the point deduct Ike should have gotten the Nod.It was a close fight though and would not call it too bad a of a robbery.
