He was trying to box & flurry but wasn't landing nearly as much as some think. Alot of those punches weren't landing. Clean effective punching had to go to Quartey; everytime Quartey landed a punch or threw a combo it moved Forrest.

    Gospel.

Forrest's jab was a non-factor. Ikes was discouraging Forrest and had his eye swelling up nicely. Outworking someone doesn't strictly mean throwing more than them. I thought Ike outworked Vernon, as he was coming forward and was landing more. I'm pretty sure I gave Ike the first two rounds easy, Forrest the third for hurting Ike, Ike won 4, either 5 or 6, Forrest 7, Ike 8(closely) , Forrest 9(point deduction), and Ike 10. I just watched it this morning, but didn't write down my exact scores.

Pretty easy fight to score in my opinion. 96-93 Quartey...6-4 with the deduction for Forrest. What makes it an awful decision is that one judge scored it 96-93 for Forrest. That's ****ING 7 ROUNDS TO FORREST. Disgusting. That's like that one judge scoring Hagler/Leonard 118-110 for Leonard. It's shameful and makes boxing look bad.

Judge: Melvina Lathan 94-95 | Judge: Steve Weisfeld 94-95

Giving 6 rounds to Forrest is not a stretch beyond imagination. I saw him win 5 rounds, and he was deducted 1 point for the low blow....even though he won the round: even.

But if Lathan, or Weisfeld felt he won an early round....they can't be critiscised in my book.

Even if the 3rd Judge scored the fight how everyone felt it should be scored........Draw or in favor of Quartey: Forrest would have won by split dec.

I've read people go to the extent of wanting to "Petition" for "Changes" because of the scoring in this fight.

        That's absolutely ridiculous.

All Ike did.....was walk foward and throw one punch at a time, while Forrest was tagging him with the jab.

I scored the fight even, and Forrest's activity won it for him.
your full of ****, ike clearly won that fight jackass. stevie wonder could of scored better than those ****ing judges. CLEAR ROBBERY!!!!!!!!!

Exactly!!!! I had Forrest winning only 4 rounds. He might've threw more punches but he wasn't effective in doing so. Quartey pressed the action & controlled the pace of the fight & had Forrest back pedaling trying to out-box him which I thought he didn't do.

The rounds were NOT that close outside of the 8th round. This is a decision that I can confidently say the majority of the public, boxing media, whathaveyou feels Quartey was either A.) robbed or B.) given the short end of the stick.

He deserved no less than a draw...and even that is giving him the old "Ike treatment". Not ONE thread, article, etc I have read ANYWHERE states that Vernon won and won fairly. It's all a bunch of people sharing the same general sentiment. Ike was given the shaft.

take a couple of days to forget what lampley, steward and merchant said during the fight

then rewatch the fight with the volume off

i had it a draw only because of the point deduction

without the low blow i had forrest winning

                      10-Ike 96-93

Seriously...tell me how those rounds scored for Ike (outside of 8) aren't clear Ike rounds. They were rounds where his aggresiveness and cleaner, harder shots were telling the story.
