Yeah he was exposed. A lot of these pbc 'monsters' really aren't anything special at all, we've seen that with broner and the charlos too. They create there own little fantasy world where these guys are the best when in reality they are nothing special.

Bute was a very good fighter, decent boxing skills, awkward style and crazy power from that lefty stance. A real problem for most fighters at 168. His flaws were such that when it didn't work, he got beat in a bad way. Given that his firepower was his best defense and his chin left more to be desired.
Wilder is a very flawed fighter, but the upside to his game is so major he is still a very good fighter overall. It's easy to point to a fighters flaws, especially after a loss. And especially a guy like Wilder with glaring flaws who predictably looked bad in defeat. But again, if you look at the complete article he is still a very good fighter.
Nasty power, great chin, huge heart, excellent athleticism, speed and instincts. His skill set is very limited, but it takes a special fighter to expose that in the face of what he brings to the dance.
Fury is the only big man since Bowe who can fight on the inside like that. Then add the way he can move and box, again for his size in particular. Not forgetting the mind he has, arguably his best quality. Styles make fights, Wilder found his boogeyman and on a bad night performance wise to boot. Dude is still a monster.Comment
