If he'd taken a loss earlier then he'd never have been a World Champion. No-one would go near a big hitter with no reputation. What would they gain? While knowing that one punch could mean a loss.

You've got to give some credit to the way his career has been managed. It's been a near masterclass.

He believed in his own hype, fighting Euro bums ( Szpilka, Duhaupas), old has beens ( Stiverne, Arreola), never beens ( Ortiz) and American club fighters ( Washington) for his WBC title.

Well, It wasn`t his fault he didn`t fight Povetkin in Moscow. I believe Povetkin would have beaten Wilder than.

Fury was another cherry pick, but went completely wrong.

Chris Arreola was a top 10 guy in the ring rankings from like 2009-14 and a lot guys like Boystov didn't fight other top 10 guys as most the dudes in the ring rankings. I mean he beat a hypejob in seth Mitchell at the time was being hyped as the next top heavyweight. Al Haymon and HBO was pushing him hard the same hyped that Wilder should've received when he was a prospect.

It works both ways but it cost him money in the end,his cash out fight was supposed to be AJ not Tyson Fury . Ha

If he didn’t pad his record it’s not certain he would have made it to 40 and 0, I suspect Ortiz would have defeated him around 2015 , Klitschko brothers walk over him and guys like Povetkin, Whyte were going to be problematic for him but I’d say Wilder would have found the right hand .

Wilders limited abilities wouldn’t have learned him much better improvement, like others said maybe his team aren’t dummies but they didn’t lose out on millions like Wilder . What he did however is purposely hand pick guys he thought was a lesser challenge , Fury happened to be one the first fight and got himself in a contractual mess ,now has to chase a third one .

The plus side would have been that he wouldn't have been 34 when reality hit.

He would have been better off losing when he was younger and giving himself more time to try and learn, you know.... How to box.
It was his lack of skill and low ring IQ that did him in, not the padded record. You have a ton of guys with records made off weak comp that show an abundance of skill or ring IQ that suggests they could be great pros.

With Wilder it was always will he be able to put you to sleep.
