My thought was to have a CLOSE (0-5) CLEAR (6-17) and WIDE (18+) or something similar and to incorporate DRAWs into the CLOSE pick (ie whilst it would still be possible to actually pick a DRAW result for big points anyone who picked DEC CLOSE for either fighter would still score for method and detail (total 20pts) in the event that the fight was drawn).
Whatever... thanks!

Koba, I gotta say I’m against the 3 option decision rule. Maybe 2021 we can revisit this idea. Hope you aren’t trying to throw a wrench in this ish now!!!!! Cheers

The season started and the rules were pretty fughin clear for all
Don’t think it’s broken either so really no need to fix or at least not now that we started that way
Plus all I saw was one fughin crybaby , if he don’t like it he can fugh off
Nobody’s got a gun to his head

For someone to complain, moan, and lobby for a bias and injustice claim, says only ONE thing: Somebody is butthurt that the rules benefitted someone else and not them. I seriously doubt there would have been a "bytching session" had their PICK method fallen correct.
And again this indicates only 1 thing I'm sorry to say: Immaturity

No man, I ain't about shoehornng any ideas in without the clear support of both he Players and CREW, though I'm gonna continue putting my ideas out there see if the players like the sound of em.
Nah, any major changes will only come at the start of a new season anyway, and I'm extremely reluctant to even make minor tweaks through the year. I've given some thought to where we have the threshold between CLOSE and WIDE and to me the possible complaints fall into two categories: Firstly there's complaints that it some cases the word CLOSE might not accurately describe the action of a fight scored within 12 points by the judges. I would point out here that it's the rule that's being played to, not the word CLOSE which is merely an arbitrary descriptor which can be selectively interpreted anyway. To me it's a trivial objection, but to address this if any player prefers to substitute 11- or 12+ for the words CLOSE or WIDE in their DEC picks they are free to do so.
Slightly less trivial is the objection by some - thanks for pointing this out Roll- that the current split might be unbalancing, based on the observation that it seems like more fights, possibly many more, end in CLOSE than WIDE decisions, meaning that players are likely to default to DEC CLOSE in the event of uncertainty. This is an issue which probably does warrant a bit of investigation, and I think might be part of the reason why the CLOSE threshold was dropped from 12 to 11 under BroBobs tenure at the start of the 2018 season. When I got a bit of time I'm going to look over the results from previous seasons and establish whether there is a marked difference between the number of WIDE and CLOSE decisions in pick em fights, or whether the perceived difference is some kinda cognitive error - possibly based on the fact that we're more likely to be uncertain of our picks when we think a fight is likely to be close.
anyways, I'm rambling again, upshot is ill crunch the numbers and see whether any changes might be indicated and if so how urgent they are. I can say almost to a certainty I won't be recommending any changes at the mid point of the year though and most likely any minor tinkering will happen for the 2021 season unless we decide on a more substantial overhaul.
The above rules points ain't directed just at you of course NC, more just a general announcement, but don't worry, there ain't gonna be any changes that haven't been fully approved first and even then they will only be introduced in a measured manner -either for a new season, or possibly, in urgent cases, at the half year point.Last edited by Citizen Koba; 03-02-2020, 03:04 AM.
