Boxing is out of favor in the US. Back in the day every urban neighborhood had a gym. Cities would have a dozen boxing gyms. Today you have to search hard for one and even then it's an MMA type gym.

        There's nothing to discuss.

In AMERICA the top TWO sports are BASKETBALL and FOOTBALL. Which kids pick up at early ages because you play them at Any park.

Parents usually push, sometimes force their children into those TWO MAJOR sports.

Many American HWs joined boxing LATE after not being able to make it to the next level and still compete and world level.

Your argument about gold medals. Im not even sure what that was.

I'm not saying personally I agree with the theory. I just ASKED a question, but you obviously are an argumentative and sensitive guy.

Sorry for getting you so upset over a simple question. Back to obscurity for you little emotional guy.

This right here. Whether its because of insurance or the focus on concussions there are just very few boxing gyms anymore.

Boxing is a niche sport in the U.S. there haven't been any top heavyweight prospects in a generation. But despite that our Ex football/basketball players can still challenge the world's best boxers lol. Wilder being a top level boxer will always stain European boxing superiority.

Is the US amateur system rubbish?

Who are the great American black hopes? Are there any in the amateurs? Can they clone Mike Tyson?
I knew a few.... but the got convicted and in in prison.

And they are writing g letters to fat white wimmin.

We don't have any white ones either lol.

If I was 6-4 to 6-8 or taller and massive, boxing would be the last thing I'd try to go pro at. Football and basketball would be where I would try to earn a living. Who wants to get beat up for a living. Even the best guys in the world take a beating in there and unless you make it to the top, the money is not even that great .

A guy like Wilder deserves all the credit in the world, he went from regular working man to rich and famous in a few years time. He's certainly not the most talented boxer out there but he did ok for himself that's for sure.

You have the same argument in every country maybe except Cuba....

In the rest of the world football(soccer) is 1st, and then you’ll have a long list with boxing no where near the top..

You lot in the US just point blank refuse to take this in for some reason?

Maybe the American working class have become soft, take away your guns and your kids might learn to fight again.
