Why did you think Wilder would win the rematch?

For me this was such an easy fight to call.
Was it as simple as backing your fighters rather than really thinking about the bout?

Fury raises his game when there is a challenge.
He has shown on many occasions he can be incredibly disciplined and execute a game plan.
If Wilder stepped to Fury they could have went toe to toe, but Wilder felt the power of the jab and the right cross and the left hook and backed up.
But even if they went toe to toe Fury is winning.
Wilder cannot beat a 100% Fury, no matter what game plan or what he does.

There was nothing Wilder or his team could do to prevent Fury from winning.

I thought Fury would win the first fight. I thought he did win the first fight. But I thought Wilder was starting to solve the puzzle late in the fight and get his right hand off.
Plus Fury went into two no hoper fights. I figured even Fury (who does lift his game) would struggle to come back up to the top level when he'd had a relatively easy 12 months compared to the level of the guys Wilder was fighting.
So my money was on Wilder by KO.
Then I saw the weigh in and figured Wilder had got it wrong - he didn't need to be slower. I didn't particularly judge Fury's weight without seeing what kind of weight he'd added.
Within about 15 seconds I realised what I'd missed. Fury really was going to bully Wilder. It was Fury who solved the puzzle late in the first fight. Step to the guy and put him under pressure.
So not an easy fight to pick at all. Big mauling Fury beats any version of Wilder - but those of us who have watched a lot of Fury (and listened to his bullscheisse) didn't really expect that. He performed a classic double bluff - he told us the truth!

Coming in back's Wilder put, and he can't get his power off going back.
Also Fury comes in closing the range and not allowing Wilder to fully extend taking power off as well.
That was the danger as Fury is coming in to pressure up close he is more a available to get caught.
I also didn't and dont trust his chin, he was put down by a light hitting cruiser in Cunningham. Also he didn't look great in the fight previous to this.
I think I had a sound reasoning for giving Wilder a good chance, but thats why they fight the fights.

Nope
I called it on here that Fury will stop him.
I even said right after the weigh in that Wilder is in trouble, when others were saying Fury was too heavy. I said on a thread that Wilder is about to get turned into a meme, which is happening.
“Punchers chance” doesn’t really exist when the skill levels are so far apart. Top fighters are top fighters for a reason, they don’t lose to fighters that only have a punchers chance and can’t live with them in the skill department.
I actually think Wilder still arguably beats anyone else (well maybe not if he’s mentally done now). He just can’t beat Fury, who’s out on his own right now in terms of ability in the division.
This wasn’t a 50% Fury with 5 months of activity. Wilder was going up against a different man and that’s why i was so confident.
