How many buys you think a third fight will do after that beating?Betting on yourself pays off when you win, not so much when you lose. All these guys are making millions, but when the 2 highest paid in the sport are on dazn saying things like you can't make money on dazn is just obviously BS.
DAZN promised Wilder a flat fee of $30 mil per fight. Well he grossed more than that last night. Not only did he receive a guarantee but also a percentage of the PPV sales as well. DAZN has a glass ceiling but with Pay Per View the revenue is endless.

All the Focus on Bashing Wilder for losing BUT Bob Arum and Frank Warren are the biggest Winners from last night as well as ESPN who now have what will be the biggest Draws in Combat Sports (McGregor in the UFC and soon to be Fury in Boxing for Top Rank) exclusively

Funny and things can change in the sport of boxing and how people make plans for 1 Guy to become a Superstar but it end up being Tyson Fury who nobody gave a chance of becoming a Superstar and the Face Of Boxing here in America

Cong**** to all of them but yeah I agree with Eddie, he really doesn't have a choice. It is a lot of $$$ for him and yeah because he can punch people will still be curious in he rematch despite the one sided mauling last night

Wilder is old and one dimesional, what else is he gonna do? wait 2 years to fight the winner of Fury vs AJ? that's not practical.
Wilder will drag his a$$ into the ring to be dominated one last time and retire happily ever after.

Agreed. No need for a 3rd fight. Let Fury and Joshua mess around now. Wilder has his chance and he blew it. Let him fight other guys to try to get back in the spotlight. Even if he does, i don't see him beating Fury regardless. He just isn't good enough

dazn offered $120M for 3 fights, so no it wasn't a flat $30M per fight. You actually think Wilder is going to make $120M elsewhere?

Regardless, you literally said "You can't make no money on dazn", when the reality is the two highest paid in the sport are fighting on dazn and Wilder undoubtedly cost himself 10s of millions turning down that offer.

Now if Wilder and Fury 2 was a classic with Wilder winning and the public wanting a third fight, with Wilder winning that setting up a massive undisputed fight with Joshua, could he have earned more than the initial dazn offer, sure, but thats not the point.

Wilder bet on himself and lost, big time. It is what it is.

All I am saying is that there are endless possibilities with Pay Per View. Currently, DAZN can only be viewed in 9 countries including the U.S. Where as with Pay Per View an event can be shown all over the world in every country on the globe. That's a big difference. It's a much larger revenue stream than DAZN.

You realise they still obviously sell the PPV/broadcast rights in markets where dazn doesn't have a presence right?

Joshua fights are PPV in the UK when he fights on dazn, same with Canelo and Mexican broadcasters.

What an odd thing to say. You really don't understand how this works huh?

You are speaking of exclusive deals. I am not talking about exclusive television rights in the U.K or Mexico. Joshua and Canelo has exclusive television rights in both those countries.

No, the dazn situation is no different to other platforms in this regard. Just like Wilder v Fury 2 was available on BT in the UK, because they offered more than Sky to broadcast it. In markets that dazn isn't available the rights are offered to the highest bidder, just like for example a showtime card etc, showtime isn't available in Australia but we still get their PPVs obviously, just from a local broadcaster.

Did you honestly think dazn fights just aren't available outside their 9 markets? I am legitimately intrigued how you thought this worked, or did you not think about it at all? Judging by the "you can't make no money on dazn" and "with dazn you are limited to 9 countries" I'm guessing the later.
