So quartey landed more punches at a higher %, but they saying he wasnt throwing alot. Was Quartey getting hit a lot? Cause a lot of times judges look at effective punches more than accuracy and connect rate. i dont know, I guess I just got to see it
Yeah Quartey landed 201 out of 481 total shots (42%) and Forrest landed 184 out of 818 (22%). So Forrest was throwing a lot of punches but it wasn't effective aggression just sheer volume. And I don't think anyone would argue that Quartey was landing the heavier punches in general. Forrest had a slight edge in power connects but as I said earlier, it appeared Quartey was landing the more meaningful power shots. If you take the 12th round as a microcosm of the fight the decision is even more inexplicable. All 3 judges gave the round to Quartey who landed 24 out of 56 shots while Forrest landed 23 out of 100. Unless the judges suddenly changed their criteria for the last round it appeared they were valuing effective accurate punching.
