Why do people think Wilder even has a chance?

The first fight, Fury was coming off of a long lay off and still beat Wilder 10-2.

This time Fury is not rusty. The guy with more skills has more options in rematches and tend to do better.

Wilder has not beat anyone worth a damn in his career.

Did the first fight not show u guys enough?

Wilder always has a puncher's chance. And it's a better punch than most.

I'm kind of interested where he ranks if he loses. Fought nobodies, and a couple of fringe guys. Stepped up once, deserved to lose and got made to look very ordinary. Stepped up again... what if he loses? He's nowhere isn't he?

He had two fights coming of his lay-off and 3 training camps. If anything he looked sharper than his last two fights.

The fight wasn’t as one sided as many believe. I had Fury winning but many of the rounds were close especially at the beginning of the fight.

Wilder was starting to time Fury with his right hand towards the back end of the fight. He landed a very good shot that could very well have hurt Fury at the end of round 8 and obviously scored the KD in round 9. However he was far too reckless and wasn’t able to capitalise on his success.

I think Fury will win the rematch. I think he’s going to box differently from the first fight as he knows Wilder has made some adjustments. However Wilder definitely has a chance especially if Fury doesn’t mix up his style

In boxing, the definition of a hype job is: "a fighter who has been made out by the media to be considerably greater than he is."

Wilder is this. He has a great party piece but has used it against mediocre opposition all his career. Ortiz is a Chisora level guy and gave Wilder fits, and against Fury DW looked like a fool for almost the entire fight, and Fury ain't fully proven yet. He's beaten Wlad and Chisora otherwise it's a steady diet of Pianteta, Sederi and Wallin and Schwartz types.
So, both of these guys have been built up but under close scrutiny we see they're not nearly deserving of the praise they get.
That said......MAYBE one or both of them are superstar level, but based on the opposition they've fought it's way too soon to be putting crowns on their heads.
If we can agree that Wlad, Povetkin, Parker, Whyte are better names than Washington, Stiverne, Pianeta and Wallin then we can agree on who the top dog is. As Steve Kim pointed out, Joshua's record is simply vastly superior to these guys.
Looking forward to the fight, I think Fury is too elusive this time. Wilder's fabled power wasn't so fabled in the first one - yet everyone doesnt talk about that. He landed several supposedly 'lights out" shots, only they didnt put the lights out. I have not bought the hype. Yet. He needs to stop ducking Joshua. Get Whyte, Aj, Dubois and a few other names on his record before he gets my attemtion, then again I am.a boxing fan, and I hate dockers.

            Very good assessment
Also , Wilder had no fughin patience and just went headhunting
Obviously swinging at thin air until he started timing him
I’m just curious to see which fighter learnt anything from the first fight

Coming in at 273 isnt a good sign and either is dumping his Trainer 8-10 weeks out

Throw in the fact Rumours of Injuries in the camp and the cut he received last fight opening up again ,

Fury the greatest Svengali in the sport who mind f.ucks his Opponets so some of these could be a smoke screen but for me in the first fight and leading up to the rematch it could have gone either way , If The fight goes 12 Fury wins

Unless this is Furys greatest Gypsie Mind Trick , Every indication is he’s getting sparked out

Agreed. I do like Wilder but there's nothing that indicates he can beat Fury.

Because he has massive one punch power and is the closest top HW to Fury in height/reach, while Fury (as good as he is in other areas) is one of the lesser punchers in the division, so the chances of him taking Wilder out quickly or making Wilder hesitant to throw are pretty low.
