Good assessment and I can very well see that as the case

Ali been out of the ring for 15 years and has to drop what 60lbs just to make weight and she what mid 40's in age?

Ali should have fought Ann Wolf if she really wanted the GOAT bragging rights.
First of all, 2007 to 2020 is 13 years. Not 15.

Next, Wolf was really no real threat to Ali when people thought she was. That was just people trying to create a woman's super fight.

This is actually interesting. Lets look at precedent. A young and brash laila fights a shopworn, out of shape Christie martin, and makes easy work of Martin. Of course Martin was not in shape.

Woman's boxing as a whole is evolving at a rapid clip. Shields has a really really powerful jab. Ali was very good but even in her time, she never tackled a real threat like Ann (edit: Ann Wolf) forgot her last name... who could punch really hard.

Ali is probably out of her league here.
        Sure.

Laila Ali, the daughter of Muhammad Ali and one of the greatest female boxers of all time, says she'd consider coming out of retirement to fight current unbeaten, three division-world champion Claressa Shields.

        I am interested too, actually.

I saw First Take this morning also.

Prime Ali is my pick. She's huge.

I agree, but who wins if she comes back?

I would have to pick Shields.

Def the safe pick but I would not under estimate Laila.

She said this on live TV today on the "First Take" show.
She also said she weighs 200 pounds (!). She isn't fat by any means, but she would have to get down to 175 or so to fight Shields.

Umm.... Well Ali is still only 42, thats not too bad age wise. If she has been healthy she might could get in fighting shape.

Thanks, I actually had seen it after I posted you, but not in something as reputable. Ali is on record as saying if the money is right she would do it.

This could be a nice fight.
